Objective:To explore the short-term follow-up and the related risk factors of suppurative endobronchitis in children. Methods:A 1:1 or 1:2 matched case control study was carried out.A total of 58 children with suppurative endobronchitis under flexible bronchoscopy were selected, from January 2016 to April 2018,as the case group, and children with non suppurative endobronchitis under flexible bronchoscopy were selected as the control group. The clinical data were collected retrospectively, and the differences between the two groups were compared.One-year follow-up were carried out to record respiratory tract infections, etc. Results:The multifactor logistic regression showed that the history of hospitalized pneumonia in recent 12 months?Haemophilus influenzae in lower respiratory tract and the duration of disease(OR=1.183~4.175,P<0.05)wereindependentriskfactorsofsuppurative endobronchitis.During one-year follow-up in 138 children, the incidence of pneumonia(37.25%vs.11.49%,?~2=12.855,P<0.001),Wet cough?4weeks(25.49%vs.5.75%,?~2=11.050,P=0.001),?5 doctor visits for cough in Outpatient Department(60.78%vs.31.03%,?~2=11.679,P=0.001)were significantly higher in the case group than those in the control group. Conclusion:A history of hospitalized pneumonia in recent 12months?Haemophilus influenzae in lower respiratory tract and the duration of cough were risk factors of suppurative endobronchitis, which with a higher proportion of neutrophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. These children have more poorly one-year prognosis, and the management of the respiratory tract should be strengthened to reduce their damage.
