| ObjectiveThe first method is by combining manipulation of massage and high potential therapy apparatus with its matching electronic pen stimulating the partial acupuncture points to treat Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation.Another method is by combining manipulation of massage and Semiconductor Laser Therapeutic Instrument to treat Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation(LDH).The traditional Chinese medicine conservative therapy regarding Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation would be enhanced via observing the efficacy of these two methods,and also the pain problems of patients could be solved.MethodsA random trial is used.Application of Random Number Table Method,Overall the 60 samples are randomly assigned into 2 groups,high potential therapy apparatus(the treatment group)and red light therapeutic instrument(the control group),with 30 patients in each group.Each human subject would receive either the treatment test or the control product for two sessions,approximately 14 days,including the interval days between adjacent sessions.The treatment group is about 50 minutes for one time,including 20 minutes of high potential therapy apparatus,10 minutes high potential electronic pen,and 20 minutes of massage manipulation.The control group is about 50 minutes for one time,including 30 minutes' red light therapeutic instrument,and 20 minutes of massage manipulation(the method is the same as the high potential therapy group).One time each day,one week is a course of treatment,and the interval between each course of treatment is two days.The evaluation of efficacy is around5±2 days after the end of the treatment,which means that duration time of each participant is roughly 20 days.Visual analogue scoring(VAS),JOA lumbago and back pain efficacy scoring system,and a randomly 3-month follow-up investigation after the treatment were used to assess the efficacy of all the participants.Results1.Overall efficacy: The total effective rate of the high potential therapy group is 93.3%,the total effective rate of the red light therapeutic group is90.0%.The total significant efficiency of the high potential therapy group is60.0%,and the total significant efficiency of the red light therapeutic group is 33.3%.After chi-square test,in terms of the overall efficiency,P> 0.05,no differences exist within the two groups.However,in terms of the total significant efficiency,P< 0.05,which shows that the overall efficacy of the high potential therapy group is better than that of the red light therapeutic group.2.The score of JOA: Before therapy,to compare the JOA scores between these two groups,and statistically no differences exist within these two groups,P > 0.05,which means it is comparable.After therapy,to compare the before and after therapy JOA score,P < 0.05,and the inter-group comparison of JOA rating after treatment was P < 0.05,indicating that the different data between these two groups is statistically significant.This result shows that in the treatment efficacy of treating LDH,the high potential therapy group is better than that of the red light therapeutic group.3.The score of VAS: to compare the VAS scores between these two groups,and statistically no differences exist within these two groups,P >0.05,which means it is comparable.After therapy,to compare the before and after therapy VAS score,P < 0.05,and the inter-group comparison of VAS rating after treatment was P < 0.05,indicating that the different data between these two groups is statistically significant.This result shows that in the treatment efficacy of treating LDH,the high potential therapy group is better than that of the red light therapeutic group.4.The comparison of relapse situation: After 3-month of the treatment,the recurrence rate of the high potential therapy group is 6.7%,while the recurrence rate of the red light therapeutic group is 13.3%.Statistically,the differences between these two groups meaningfully shows that the recurrencerate of the red light therapeutic group is higher than that of the high potential therapy group.In the long-term efficacy,the high potential therapy group was better than the red light therapeutic group.Conclusions1.Both combining high potential therapy apparatus with manipulation of massage and combining red light therapeutic instrument with manipulation of massage could improve the clinical symptoms and physical sign.2.When comparing these two methods,it can be concluded that combining high potential therapy apparatus with manipulation of massage is better than combining red light therapeutic instrument with manipulation of massage on the overall effect of treating LDH.Combining high potential therapy apparatus with manipulation of massage performs better in relieving the pain of patients.3.The high potential therapy apparatus is easy to operate,combined with the manipulation of massage,it could improve the comfort level of patients.As a result,this method is easily accepted by majority of patients and is worthy of clinical promotion and application. |
