Objective:To explore the difference of breath-holding index between depression with Damp-heat of liver and Gallbladder Syndrome and normal people, and to explore the correlation between depression with Damp-heat of liver and Gallbladder Syndrome and cerebrovascular reactivity(CVR).Method:This study included depression patients with liver-gallbladder dampness-heat syndrome as experimental group.Transcranial Doppler ultrasound was used as a detection method. The changes of blood flow of bilateral middle cerebral artery after 30 seconds of calm breathing and breath holding were observed, and then compared with the normal control group,in order to explore the influence of liver and gallbladder dampness-heat syndrome on CVR in mild and moderate depression.Result:The study eventually included 40 depressive patients with Damp-heat of liver and gallbladder as the experimental group(21 mild,19 moderate),and 20 normal subjects as the control group. The ratio of male to female was 1:4 in both groups. The average age of the experimental group was 28.5(+8.76)years,and that of the control group was 30.05(+8.02)years.After statistical analysis, the middle cerebral artery flow velocity in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P <0.05).The pulsation index and impedance index of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(P < 0.05),and the breath holding index of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:The cerebral blood flow and cerebrovascular responsiveness of depression patients with dampness-heat of liver and gallbladder were lower than those of normal subjects. There was no correlation between cerebral blood flow velocity and cerebrovascular responsiveness and depression score.
