Objective: To investigate the role of OPN in the formation of calcium oxalate stones by measuring the serum osteopontin(OPN)levels in patients with upper urinary calcium oxalate stones and healthy subjects in Zhuang from Western Guangxi,and compared the differences between them.Methods: Selected the patients with urinary stone who underwent surgical treatment in the urology department of affiliated hospital of youjiang medical university for nationalities from May 2018 to October 2018,then analyzed by FTIR stone analyzer.Based on the results,fifty cases of calcium oxalate stones were selected as the experimental group,including 26 males and 24 females,aged from 29 to 66 years,with an average age of 46.38 years.Fifty healthy persons were collected as control group,29 males and 21 females,aged 25 to 63 years,with an average age of 42.72 years.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to determine the concentration of OPN in the serum of the experimental group and the control group,the measurement results were expressed by ąs,the data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.Two independent sample mean comparison t test was used to compare the OPN of serum in two groups.Results:(1)The serum OPN concentration in stone group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.001).(2)There was no significant difference in serum OPN concentration between male and female patients in the stone group(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference in serum OPN concentration between male and female in control group(P>0.05).(3)The serum OPN concentration of male in the stone group was significantlylower than that in the control group(P<0.001),and the serum OPN concentration of female in stone group was lower than that of female in control group(P<0.05).(4)The serum OPN concentration of pure CaOx patients was lower than that of control group,and that of pure CaOx patients was lower than that of COM+COD+CA.AP patients.Conclusion: 1.There was no significant correlation between serum OPN level and sex in upper urinary CaOx stones in Zhuang from Western Guangxi.but in the same sex population,up-regulated of serum OPN level could inhibit the formation of CaOx stones.2.Serum OPN may inhibit the formation of CaOx stones in Zhuang from Western Guangxi.3.Pure CaOx stone in upper urinary mixed with CA.AP may increase serum OPN level in Zhuang from Western Guangxi.
