Objective:By using the method of electro-acupuncture and moxibustion,we stimulated Tianshu and Dachangshu acupoints respectively,detected the expression of serum GAS and jejunal SCF protein in functional diarrhea model rats and analyzed their difference,thereby to identify the different effect between electro-acupuncture and moxibustion on functional diarrhea,and explore mechanisms of their treatment for functional diarrhea,to provide experimental basis for the treatment of functional diarrhea by Acupuncture and moxibustion.Method:In this study,40 SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups(n =10):control group,model group,electro-acupuncture group and moxibustion group.Each rat of the control group were respectively given 3ml Saline for gastric lavage,once a day for 14 consecutive days.Each rat of the remaining three groups were respectively given 3ml senna leaf Decoction for gastric lavage,once a day for 14 consecutive days to establish functional diarrhea model.The model was stable for 14 days,followed by electro-acupuncture and moxibustion intervention.After 14 days of stabilization,the model was intervened by electroacupuncture and moxibustion.Tianshu and Dachangshu were selected for intervention in electroacupuncture group and moxibustion group.The locaitoon of acupoints and the depth of acupuncture in both groups were determined according to the criteria provided by Experimental Acupuncture.The electroacupuncture group was intervened with Huatuo brand electro-acupuncture instrument(SDZ-II type),and the dense wave was selected.The dense wave is 15 Hz,the electric current is 1.5mA,to cause the rat muscle slightly contractions,the duration of needle retention was 20 minutes,once a day.In the moxibustion group,rat hair in the acupoints was removed,warming moxibustion with moxa sticks(4 mm x 115 mm),heated each point about 2.5 cm away for15 minutes.Both groups were intervened once a day for 10 consecutive days,then the corresponding diarrhea indicators were evaluated.After that,Then,venous blood and jejunal tissues of rats in each group were taken to determine the content of GAS in serum and the quantitative expression of jejunal SCF protein.Finally,SPSS19.0 software was used for statistical analysis of experimental data.Results:1.Compared with the control group,the diarrhea index,dilution rate and dilution grade of the functional diarrhea rat model were given senna decoction had significant difference;after the intervention of electroacupuncture and moxibustion,there was extremely significant difference between the moxibustion group and the model group(P <0.01),and the electro-acupuncture group had extremely significant difference of the model group(P < 0.01).2.After the intervention of electroacupuncture and moxibustion,compared with the model group,the levels of GAS in serum in the two groups were decreased.Both moxibustion group and electro-acupuncture group has a significant difference in serum GAS with the moxibustion group(P < 0.01);The electro-acupuncture group had extremely significant difference of the model group(P<0.05).3.After the intervention of electroacupuncture and moxibustion,compared with the model group,there was a extremely significant difference in the expression of jejunal SCF between moxibustion group and model group(P < 0.01);there was a extremely significant difference between electro-acupuncture group and model group(P < 0.01).Conclusion: 1.The functional diarrhea rat model can be successfully reproduced by gavage with senna leaf decoction.2.Electro-acupuncture and moxibustion at Tianshu and Dachangshu acupoints could decrease the serum GAS content of functional diarrhea model rats.3.Electro-acupuncture and moxibustion at Tianshu and Dachangshu acupoints can decrease the expression of jejunal SCF protein of functional diarrhea model rats.4.Electro-acupuncture and moxibustion at Tianshu and Dachangshu acupoints have achieved remarkable therapeutic effect in functional diarrhea model rats,and there were some differences in the expression of serum GAS and jejunal SCF.
