| ObjectiveUsing a prospective study,this study intends to adopt Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment combined with benzbromarone as a treatment method.According to the changes in clinical symptoms and related laboratory indexes before and after treatment,to observe the clinical efficacy of Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment on non-acute gouty arthritis due to deficiency of spleen and kidney as well as turbidity and stagnation.The efficacy of Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment on non-acute gouty arthritis due to deficiency of spleen and kidney as well as turbidity and stagnation was objectively evaluated,so as to provide a clinical basis for the promotion of this ointment.MethodsSeventy-two patients with non-acute gouty arthritis due to deficiency of spleen and kidney as well as turbidity and stagnation meeting clinical observation conditions in the outpatient and inpatient departments of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected from March 2018 to January 2019.They were randomly divided into control group and treatment group according to the random number table generated from SPSS23.0,with 36 patients per group.Both groups received routine basic treatment for non-acute gouty arthritis,including low-purine diet and active treatment for primary disease.The treatment plan for lowering uric acid in the included patients was oral administration with benzbromarone capsules with 50 mg/day and 1 time/day.On this basis,the treatment group was orally administrated with Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment(10 g/time,1 time/day)for continuous 30 days(1 course)for a total of 3 courses.Observation indexes and methods included:1.Effectiveness evaluation indexes:blood uric acid,efficacy in lowering uric acid,standard-reaching rate of blood uric acid,recurrence rate of acute arthritis,total efficiency of traditional Chinese medicine,total score of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms,and 2.clinical safety indexes:liver function and renal function.Statistical methods were used to analyze the differences in the indexes of the included patients before and after treatment.ResultsDuring the study,2 patients were lost and 70 patients were finally included,with 35 patients in the treatment group and the control group,respectively.As for the total score of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms:intra-group comparison showed that the total score of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms in the treatment group before and after treatment was significantly different(P<0.01),but not significantly different in the control group(P>0.05);inter-group comparison after treatment presented a significant statistical difference in the total score of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms between the 2 groups(P<0.01).Each TCM syndrome points:the treatment group can significantly reduce joint pain,joint swelling,improve joint activities,waist and knee tenderness,abdominal distension and fullness of the main symptoms,including joint swelling,joint activity,waist and knee tenderness,abdominal distension and fullness is superior to the control group.The total efficiency of traditional Chinese medicine was 97.14%and 11.43%,respectively,in the treatment group and the control group,with a significant statistical difference.As for blood uric acid,intra-group comparison before and after treatment showed statistical differences in the 2 groups(P<0.05);inter-group comparison after treatment reveled a statistical difference between the 2 groups(P<0.05).As for urine uric acid,inter-group comparison after treatment reveled a statistical difference between the 2 groups(P<0.05).The efficacy in lowering uric acid showed a statistical difference between the 2 groups after treatment(P<0.05).The standard-reaching rate of blood uric acid showed a statistical difference between the 2 groups after treatment(P<0.05).Recurrence rate presented a statistical difference between the 2 groups during treatment(P<0.05).As for side effects,no statistical significance was found in liver or renal function between the 2 groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).ConclusionXiezhuo Tongbi ointment can improve the efficacy in the treatment of non-acute gouty arthritis compared with Western medicine treatment alone,reduce the recurrence rate in Western medicine treatment alone,and improve the standard-reaching rate of treatment.Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment can improve uric acid excretion.Xiezhuo Tongbi ointment can significantly improve traditional Chinese medicine symptoms of this disease by relieving turbidity and stagnation and regulating spleen and kidney. |
