The Investigation And Analysis Of The Core Competence Of The Wound Ostomy Continence Specialized Nurse In Zhejiang Province

Objectives:We investigate on core competence of in-service of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses(WOCN)in Zhejiang Province applying the evaluation system of core competence of WOCN in order to understand the status and evaluate of core competence of WOCN in Zhejiang Province,indirectly evaluate the effect of specialist nurses training base and provide relevant basis for optimizing the training methods and sustainable development of WOCN.MethodsIn this study,convenience sampling method was used to conduct self-evaluation on the WOCN in Zhejiang province by using the general situation questionnaire and the core competence evaluation scale of WOCN.By sending electronic questionnaires to the trainees of the four training courses for WOCN from 2014 to 2017and WOCN in service,the questionnaires were completed anonymously and the data were analyzed statistically.OutcomesWOCNs in Zhejiang province are mainly those with bachelor's degree or above,senior seniority or technical title above intermediate level.The training form is mainly based on the specialized nurses base in Zhejiang province,and the work of WOCN is mainly carried out on a part-time basis.The total score of their core competence is 280.61+41.06.The factors of education,training form and working form are related to the core competence of WOCN.ConclusionsThe core competence of WOCN in Zhejiang Province is at a high level.It is suggested that the training base should strengthen the training of specialized nurses with high academic qualifications when recruiting trainees.In the training,we need to strengthen the training of critical thinking ability.After the training,WOCN are encouraged to engage in specialized nursing work,so as to enhance the core competence and further promote the sustainable development of WOCN in Zhejiang Province.
