Human Papillomavirus And Cervical Cancer

This review mainly introduces the history and new progress of basic and clinical research on human papillomavirus and cervical cancer.It is divided into the following three parts.In part 1,we introduces the virological aspects of HPV.In this part,the structure and physical properties of the virus,the properties,sequence structure and function of the eight proteins of the HPV virus were highlighted.El is a helicase that decomposes ATP activity;E2 regulates the balance between virus replication and protein expression;E6 and E7 are the most important oncogenic proteins of the virus and induce cell immortalization.The self-assembled L1 constitutes the main component of the viral capsid.L2 mediates the transport of viral DNA into the cell and transports it to the nucleus.Both of L1 and L2 play an important role in protecting,transporting viral DNA and viral infections.In part 2,the clinical problems of HPV and cervical cancer are introduced.Firstly we reviewed the history of HPV research:How HPV is established as a major risk factor for cervical cancer.The disease burden of cervical cancer is briefly discussed,followed by a description of the spread of HPV and the evolution of infection.Finally,the existing diagnosis methods of HPV infection,their advantages,disadvantages and new developments are introduced.HPV infection is usually cleared by our body automatically,but there always is a small part of the patient who can not self-heal and get into a persistent infection or latent infection.The prolonged infection time provides a possibility for HPV to transform epithelial tissues into precancerous lesions.At this time,the integrated HPV will cause the immortalization of epithelial cells,therefore the development of drugs that eliminates the integration of HPV genes has become a hot spot in current research.In part 3,we briefly introduced the research status of HPV in other cancers.HPV is not only the culprit in cervical cancer,but also in the head and neck cancer,skin cancer,lung cancer,genital anus cancer.The full text tries its best to be widely involved from basic research to clinical application,in order to provide a window for gynecologists to understand the intrinsic mechanism of cervical cancer caused by HPV.At the same time,it is also a pathway to learn professional knowledge and improve the level of literature collection.
