Research On Information Anxiety Of Elderly Inpatients Based On User Experience

In recent years,China's aging population trend is beyond doubt,the elderly hospitalization rate is also increasing.This has brought severe challenges to the future hospitalization services and medical institutions in China.At the same time,for a long time,the contradiction between doctors and patients and the tension between doctors and patients have been troubling the improvement of service quality of medical institutions in China.Among them,the Information Anxiety of patients is one of the important factors.Under the research context of User Experience Design,this research takes elderly inpatients as the entry point.On the one hand,the study was conducted from the macro perspective of the fluctuation and change rules of inpatients' anxiety,the inpatient experience process and stakeholders;on the other hand,the study was conducted from the micro perspective by combining the objective factors:information transmission carrier/touch point with the dominant factors:User Prototype of elderly patients.To explore the Information Anxiety of elderly inpatients in the in-patient process.By introducing the theoretical model to analyze its information needs,and then puts forward targeted design strategies and principles.Help the hospital to formulate solutions,and ultimately improve the communication between in-patient service and doctors and patients by providing patients with the information they need and better information acquisition experience and relieving the information anxiety of elderly inpatients in the form of products or services.This research first using SAS anxiety self-assessment scale,Participatory Observation based on the group culture and interview as the main method of investigation and data collection.Through the touch point research and the User Prototype construction as theory research tools for survey data analyzed and discussed.Obtained in three stages:elderly inpatients,anxiety mood swings chart,5 Information Anxiety touch points of elderly inpatients.Then,based on the research results of the stage and the hierarchical theory of patients'medical information needs,four design strategies/principles aiming at solving the information anxiety problem of elderly inpatients were elaborated:1.Real-time Feedback.2.Comprehension Screening.3.Reference Substance Expression.4.Privacy protection.The above four design principles guide product and service design.Take new or improved existing products or services as the carrier;From the five dimensions of information communication media,communication system,communication channel,information expression reality and expression way,the problem of information anxiety of patients can be solved and alleviated.Finally,through the redesign of inpatients' daily medication experience,the design principle is applied to a disposable medicine bag with a QR code that can be split into small packages,and a hospital information platform based on WeChat program,as a practical case of the design principle.The feasibility of the design results was verified by the Sharing meeting and the Expert Scoring,thus proving the operability and effectiveness of the design principles.
