ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of combined medical polymer splint fixation for external malleolus fracture after manual reduction.MethodsIn this study,a randomized controlled study was conducted.From February 2017 to February 2018,60 patients with external malleolus fractures in the Department of Orthopaedics,Panyu District Hospital of Guangzhou City were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.The patients were divided into observation group and control group by random method,30 patients in each group.The observation group in the basie theory of the treatment of fractures of traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics,under the guidance of the theory of small splint technology,the application of TCM manual reduction combined with medical polymer splint fixation for the treatment of external malleolus fracture.The control group was treated with TCM manual reduction combined with cast immobilization for the treatment of external malleolus fracture.The pain scores of the limbs before and after fixation were compared between the two groups.Observed the swelling time of the affected limbs and the clinical healing time of the fractures.The two groups were compared before treatment and after the treatment for the third month and the sixth month.Observed the ankle joint AOFAS function scored and recorded adverse reactions.Results1.After the first week after admission,VAS(4.97±0.57)in the observation group and VAS(5.26±0.45)in the control group.The VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After the second week,the observation groupVAS(1.97±0.63)and control group VAS(2.52±0.58),which the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and there was a significant difference(P<0.05).The scores of the two groups in the pain score group showed a decreasing trend,which was a significant difference(P<0.05).2.In the observation group,the swelling time of the affected limb was(17.93±2.30)days,and in the control group was(19.41±2.36)days,the swelling time of the observation group was earlier than that of the control group,and there was significant difference(P<0.05).3.The clinical healing time of the fractures in the observation group was(6.10±1.05)weeks,and the control group was(6.11 ±0.93)weeks.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).4.The AOFAS score of the ankle joint function in the observation group was higher than that of the control group in the third month after treatment(P<0.05).The AOFAS score of the ankle joint function in the 6th month after treatment was higher than the control group(P<0.05).But all obtained a consistent excellent rate,and there was no significant difference compared with the number of good cases(P>0.05).5.There were no adverse reactions such as limb gangrene,ischemic spasm,and purulent dermatitis.ConclusionAnalog splint fixing technology,the treatment of external malleolus fracture with medical polymer splint can significantly relieved pain,improved the swelling of affected limbs,and obtained satisfactory effect of fracture healing time.and got advantages in early stage.The medical polymer splint is easy to operate and adjust,which was comfortable,and easily accepted by patients.Have certain clinical application value.
