Clinucal Observation Of Therapeutic Effects Of Chinese Drugs Combined With Acupuncture On Infertile Men Manifesting The Kidney Deficiency And Blood Stasis Syndrome

Object iveTo observe the effect of Chinese drugs combined with acupuncture,Yishen Huoxue Formula,acupuncture on sperm parameters and sex hormone levels of infertile men manifesting the kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,and to investigate the efficiency of the three treatment methods and its differences among three groups.MethodsCollecting cases from reproductive medicine department and andrology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from April,2018 to January,2019,60 patients with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome of infertility were averagely randomized into Chinese drugs group(group A),Acupuncture group(group B),Chinese drugs combined with acupuncture group(group C).Patients in group A received the oral administration of Yishen Huoxue Formula every day,the patients in group B received acupuncture treatment once a week,twenty minutes every time,those in group C took Yishen Huoxue Formula and received acupuncture simultaneously,following the same therapeutic regime of group A and group B.The treatment of patients lasted for continuous 90 days from the start.Among the 60 patients,one patient in group A refused to take Yishen Huoxue Formula,five patients in group B refused to accept acupuncture,four patients in group C refused to accept therapy.19 cases in group A,15 cases in group B and 16 cases in group C were included in the statistical analysis.The level of main sperm parameters,follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),testosterone(T)was recorded before and after treatment.Results1.The comparison of the baseline among three groups before treatment:there were no statistical differences in age,disease duration,abstinence days,sperm concentration,total counts,progressive motility rate,nonprogressive motility rate,immotility rate,normal morphology rate,FSH level,LH level,T level.2.Effective rateThe effective rate was higher in group C than group A and B,but with no statistical differences(p>0.05).3.Sperm parametersComparison within groupsThe sperm concentration,total sperm counts,the sperm progressive motility rate,sperm normal morphology rate were improved significantly after treatment of 90 days in group A and group C respectively(p<0.05).The sperm progressive motility rate was elevated significantly after treatment of 90 days in group B(p<0.05),the sperm concentration,total sperm counts,normal morphology sperm rate were improved slightly in group B,not significantly(p>0.05).The sperm immotility rate decreased significantly after treatment within three groups(p<0.05),there was no statistical difference in the nonprogressive motility rate within three groups(p>0.05).Comparison among groupsThere were statistical differences in the increase of sperm progressive(PR)motility rate and the decrease of sperm immotility rate between groups C and group B,group C and group A(p<0.05).There were no statistical differences in the variation of sperm concentration,total sperm counts,nonprogressive motility,normal morphology rate among groups C,group B and group A(p>0.05).4.Sex hormone levelComparison within groupsThere were no statistical differences in the FSH,LH,T level within groups(p>0.05).Comparison among groupsThere were no statistical differences in the changes of FSH,LH,T level among groups(p>0.05).5.Safety evaluation:no patients had side-effects during treatment.ConclusionChinese drugs combined with acupuncture was superior to Chinese drugs or acupuncture alone in elevating sperm progressive motility rate and decresing sperm immotility rate.Chinese drugs combined with acupuncture and Yishen Huoxue Formula could improve sperm concentration,sperm progressive motility rate,sperm normal morphology rate,acupuncture could improve sperm progressive motility rate.There were no significant differences among the three groups in effective rate.
