A Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Refractory Peripheral Facial Paralysis By Napex Cluster Needling Therapy

Objective: To discuss influence of treating on refractory peripheral facial paralysis by adding napex cluster needling therapy to conventional acupuncture.And to improve treatment efficiency of refractory peripheral facial paralysis.Methods: 60 patients with refractory peripheral facial paralysis were divided into control group and treatment group with 30 patients in every group by the way of random number table.Patients in control group were treated by conventional acupuncture treatment while the treatment one was given napex cluster needling therapy besides conventional acupuncture treatment.Two groups were all treated for four courses of treatment and every course of treatment lasted for six days with a one-day break during every treatment course.Scales of House-Brackmann,FDI and patients' healthy side comparison were used to evaluate state of illness while the treatment before and after.And then prognosis was evaluated one month after the completion of holistic treatment.Results:(1)Comparison of House-Brackmann scale: There were statistical significance differences in House-Brackmann scale score between two groups(P<0.05).(2)Comparison of Facial Disability Index: The difference of score compared within groups had statistical significance(P<0.05),the differences of comparison among groups had statistical significance(P<0.05)after the whole courses.(3)Comparison of patients' healthy side: The difference of score compared within groups had statistical significance(P<0.05),the differences of comparison among groups had statistical significance(P<0.05)after the whole courses.(4)Comparison of effective rate: There was statistical significance difference in total effective rate between two groups(P<0.05).And the cure and significant efficiency rate of treatment group(86.67%)was obviously higher than the control one(51.72%).Conclusion:(1)It is safe,practical and effective to treat refractory peripheral facial paralysis by adding napex cluster needling therapy to conventional acupuncture.(2)The curative effect of adding napex cluster needling therapy is better than conventional acupuncture.
