Kidney-Nourishing-and-Cognition-Enhancing Prescription Combined With Borneol-Acorus Gramineus Snuffing Powder To Treat Spleen And Kidney Deficiency Among Senior Patients With AMCI:A Clinical Study

Object:To observe the clinical efficacy of Kidney-Nourishing-and-Cognition-Enhancing prescription combined with Bomeol-Acorus gramineus snuffing powder on treating spleen and kidney deficiency among senior patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI),by comparing and analyzing the changes of patients' performance scores in tables of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Symptom Integral Meter,MMSE,MoCA,IADL and Clinical Memory Scale before and after treatment.To objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine combined with snuffing therapy and pro-vide the basis for clinical application,so that the features and advantages of TCM treatment for cognitive dysfunction can be further demonstrated.Methods:This study uses randomized controlled clinical research method to select 60 cases from geriatric memory outpatient clinic and ward in Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine.All the cases are divided into treatment group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases)according to the random number table method.Referring to the diagnostic criteria for syndromes in "Guidelines for clinical research on mild cognitive impairment(draft)" formulated by Tian jinzhou et al.and "Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of dementia in China" published in 2012,all these 60 cases are diagnosed with spleen and kidney deficiency type of aMCI.The therapy in treatment group is Kidney-Nourishing-and-Cognition-Enhancing oral prescription combined with Bomeol-Acorus gramineus snuffing powder,while the therapy in control group is oral administration of Aniracetam capsules.All the cases are followed up for 3 months,and their changes of scores in tables of TCM Symptom Integral Meter,MMSE,MoCA,IADL and Clinical Memory Scale before and after treatment are compared to observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine combined with snuffing therapy on treating aMCI.Results:The clinical efficacy of two groups are compared:the total effective rate of treatment group is higher than that of control group and the results show high statistical significance(P<0.01).In the treatment group,patients'scores of MMSE,MoCA(especially the delayed recall)and Clinical Memory Scale after treatment are significantly higher than those before the treatment,and the results show high statistical significance(P<0.01);patients' scores of IADL after treatment are higher than those before the treatment,and the results show statistical significance(P<0.05).In the control group,patients' scores of MMSE,MoCA(especially the delayed recall),IADL and Clinical Memory Scale before and after the treatment are compared,and the results show no statistical significance(P>0.05).Between the treatment group and control group,patients'scores of MMSE and MoCA(especially the delayed recall)after treatment are compared,the scores of treatment group are significantly higher than those of control group,and the results show high statistical significance(P<0.01);patients' scores of IADL and Clinical Memory Scale after treatment are also compared,the scores of treatment group are higher than those of control group,and the results show statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Kidney-Nournshing-and-Cognition-Enhancing prescription and Bormeol-Acorus gramineus snuffing powder in the treatment of spleen and kidney deficiency among senior patients with aMCI has a significant clinical effect.This treatment can improve the TCM clinical syndrome score of patients and significantly improve patients' scores of MMSE,MoCA,IADL and Clinical Memory Scale,enhance patients',cognitive function,especially the delayed and episodic memory.It can effectively prevent and delay the occurrence and development of aMCI,and improve patients' quality of life.This treatment is safe and reliable,and is worthy of clinical promotion.
