Objective:To understand the status quo and relationship between the quality of life and family functions of children affected by AIDS,and to provide reference for the formulation of support policies and interventions.Met hods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1872 children in zunyi cit yusing the family function scale and the quality of life scale for children and adolescents, including 232 children affected by AIDS and 1640 ordinary childre n.The chi-square test, independent sample t test, variance analysis,Pearson cor relation, multiple linear regression and optimal scale regression were used to c ompare the differences between groups, analyze the factors affecting quality of life and family function, and discuss the influence of family function on qualit y of life. Results:The distribution of family functional grade of children affec ted by AIDS was different from that of ordinary children(?~2=337.42,P<0.05).There was a difference in the distribution of life quality grades between childr en affected by AIDS and ordinary children(?~2=241.339,P<0.05).The total sco re of family function of children affected by AIDS(2.47±0.74)was higher tha n that of ordinary children(1.83±0.35),and the difference was statistically sign ificant(P<0.05).In terms of gender, the total score of family function of child ren affected by AIDS was higher in boys(2.67±0.78)than in girls(2.26±0.63),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of different working places of guardians, the total score of family function(2.77±0.73)of children affected by HIV/AIDS who work overseas by their guardians is higher than that of children who work locally by their guardians(2.23±0.66),and th e difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).For the only child, the total sc ore of family function of the only child was higher than that of the non-only child(2.83±0.74)(2.40±0.71),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total life quality score of children affected by AIDS(126.76±18.77)was higher than that of ordinary children(138.69±16.95),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of parents'work place, the score of quality of life of parents working at home(133.96±17.36)was higher than that of children affected by AIDS whose parents worked in other places(120.04±17.56),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of gender, there was no statistically significant difference in the total score of qua lity of life of aids-affected children of different genders(P>0.05).Children affe cted by AIDS with different family incomes had statistically significant differen ces in total scores of quality of life and various factors(P<0.05),which were shown as follows:high>,high>,generally low>,and low>.Children affect ed by AIDS with different academic performance have statistically significant d ifferences in various factors of life quality(P<0.05),which are shown as:good>,good>,general>,poor>.Optimal scale regression showed that gender,f amily income, academic performance and whether parents were at home of chil dren affected by AIDS could positively predict family function level(R~2=0.379,P<0.05).The gender of children affected by AIDS,family income, academic performance and whether their parents are at home can all negatively predict t he quality of life(R~2=0.564,P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that there w as a negative correlation between the quality of life of children affected by AI DS and family function in different degrees(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the total score of quality of life of children affected by AIDS and each dimension could predict the quality of life level to a certain e xtent(R~2=0.181,P<0.05).Conclusion:The level of family function and quality of life of children affected by AIDS was low.Gender, family income, academ ic performance and whether parents at home can positively predict the family f unction level of children affected by AIDS to varying degrees;Gender, family income, academic performance and whether parents are at home can all negativ ely predict the quality of life of children affected by AIDS to varying degrees.Family function can also predict the quality of life.Improving family function can effectively improve the quality of life of children affected by AIDS.
