A Study Of Family Function And Quality Of Life Of Acute Leukemia Children' Parents In Hunan Province

Objective To investigate the status of quality of life and family functioning among acute leukemia children' parents;to explore the factors related to quality of life and family functioning; to provide the scientific basis for health education,psychological counselling and social supportMethod This study is a descriptive study.Using random sampling method, two hundred and ten acute leukemia children' parents as observational group and two hundred normal children' parents were selected to be control group. Questionnaires include General information, Family Assessment Device (FAD) and WHOQOL-BREF,and data were analyzed by spss15.0 software whose statistical methods including statistical description, chi-square test, T-test, Oneway ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression analysisResults 1. All dimensions of the function in acute Leukemia children's family are in lower level,which are below the medium level.The relative factors on affecting the total family function are the number of children,the time of diagnosis and marital status by multiple linear stepwise repression analysis.Mann-whitney U in Non.Parametric statistics reveals that the dimension of observational group are higher than the control group (p< 0.01).The difference has statistical significance. 2.Compared to the control group,the acute Leukemia children's parents'quality of life,including physiology, psychology,social, environ-mental dimensions are all lower.Mutliple linear regression analysis indicates that the number of children and the time of diagnosis.3.Spearman analysis to the quality of life four dimension's and family functions shows that the total score for quality of life and family function's dimesions are all negatively correlated (p<0.05).All the groups have statistical significant except physical-status group,emotional-physical group,emotional intervention-physinal group.Conclusion 1.Family function of acute leukemia children' parents worse than normal children'parents. The influence factors of family functioning include the number of children, the time of diagnosis and marital status.2. Quality of life of acute leukemia children'parents worse than normal children'parents. The influence factors of quality of life include the number of children and the time of diagnosis.3. Family function and quality of life of acute leukemia children' parents is negatively correlated, except physical-status group,emotional-physical group,emotional intervention-physinal group.
