Objective : This clinical research observed the difference in clinical efficacy of acupoint catgut embedding therapy in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, verified that acupoint catgut embedding is an effective method for the treatment of allergic, and compared with the western medicine cetirizine hydrochloride dispersible tablets, the advantages of acupoint cat-embedding in the treatment of allergic rhinitis were analyzed,so as to provide a more effective and long-term treatment for allergic rhinitis and better guide clinical work. Methods: This research selects 64 patients from May 2017 to October 2018 who met the diagnostic criteria of the disease who were hospitalized in acupuncture and moxibustion clinic of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,or recruited from poster recruitment or new media information. All patients were randomly divided into two groups, the acupoint catgut embedding group(catgut embedding group)and the cetirizine hydrochloride dispersible tablet group(control group). In the end, each group was 30 cases because of shedding and removal.Acupoint catgut embedding group received acupoint catgut embedding.Points were divided into two groups: Group A: Left Feishu,Pishu,Shenshu,Quchi,Zusanli,Fenglong;Group B: Right Feishu,Pishu,Shenshu,Quchi,Zusanli,Fenglong. The two groups of acupoints were used alternately, once a week for treatment, and another group of acupoints were taken for treatment in the second week, with a course of 1 course for 2 weeks,a total of 2 courses. The serum IgE,the total nasal symptom Score(TNSS)and rhinocoujunctivitis quality of life questionaire(RQLQ)evaluated were used as as indicators. There were 8 weeks follow-up after treatment.Serum IgE level,TNSS score and RQLQ score were recorded before and after treatment(2 weeks after treatment),TNSS score and RQLQ score were recorded at the first follow-up(4 weeks after treatment)and the second follow-up(8 weeks after treatment). Finally, statistical analysis was made on the relevant data, and the efficacy and safety of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of allergic rhinitis were evaluated.Results:1.Dropout: During the treatment period, there was two dropout subjects in the acupoint catgut embedding group, and two dropout subjects in the western medicine group. In the final, there were 30 patients in each group.2.Comparison of efficacy between the two groups: After treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The total effective rates of the two groups were compared at the first and second follow-up,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).3.Comparison of serum IgE levels between the two groups: Serum IgE levels of the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment, with statistically significant differences(all P<0.05).After treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).4.Total scores of nasal symptoms(TNSS)of the two groups were compared: The total scores of nasal symptoms in the two groups were significantly lower after treatment, the first follow-up,and the second follow-up than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01).After treatment, there was no significant difference in the total score of nasal symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05).The total scores of nasal symptoms in the first and second follow-up groups were significantly lower than those in the western medicine group(all P<0.05).5.RQLQ scores of patients in the two groups were compared: The scores of patients in the two groups were significantly lower after treatment, the first follow-up,and the second follow-up than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01).Compared with the western medicine group, the RQLQ in the acupoint catgut embedding group decreased more significantly than that in the western medicine group(all P<0.05).6.None of the patients at the institute experienced major adverse events.During the treatment period, there was no adverse reaction occurred in all patients in the acupoint catgut embedding group, but two patients in the western medicine group had a dizziness, and one patient had a stomach discomfort and nausea after taking the medicine. The patients were instructed to stop taking the medicine and drink an appropriate amount of warm water. After 2 hours of close observation, the symptoms were relieved and the patient returned to normal. In the later stage,no adverse reactions occurred and the treatment was completed. These incidents did not have an impact on late treatment. Conclusion:Treating allergic rhinitis with acupoint catgut embedding therapy can effectively reduce the serum IgE level of patients, improve nasal symptoms of patients, significantly improve the quality of life of patients, compared with the oral administration of cetirizine hydrochloride dispersible tablets, the long-term clinical effect is more significant. In addition, this therapy did not produce any adverse reactions or side effects, which is worthy of clinical application.
