Purpose By observing the changes of visual analogue scale(VAS)score, tinnitus handicap inventory(THI)score and vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity in tinnitus patients before and after treatment, the difference of curative effect between electro-acupuncture and pure acupuncture was compared,to explore the pathogenesis and related factors of tinnitus, provide theoretical and clinical basis for optimizing the treatment of tinnitus by acupuncture,so as to find a simple and effective treatment for tinnitus. Methods Sixty tinnitus patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to the order of patients' visits: conventional acupuncture group(30 cases)and electro-acupuncture group(30 cases). Before the beginning of treatment,60 patients with tinnitus were assessed to understand the general situation of the patients;through medical history inquiry and imaging examination,we investigated whether each patient was accompanied by clinical common basic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cervical spondylosis, vertigo, headache, sleep disorders, and recorded the number of cases accompanied by these common diseases, calculated the percentage. In the treatment, the conventional acupuncture group was treated with simple acupuncture, and the electro-acupuncture group was added with electro-acupuncture on the basis of the conventional acupuncture group. The treatment lasted for 10 days and one course of treatment, with a total of two courses of treatment. Before and after treatment, tinnitus disability scale and visual analogue scale were used to evaluate the efficacy. At the same time, the changes of vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity in two groups of tinnitus patients before and after treatment were observed.SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis of data.Results(1)Of the 60 tinnitus patients,49 were accompanied by cervical spondylosis, accounting for 81.7%.Sleep disorders ranked second,46 patients, accounting for 76.7%.Hypertension ranked third, accounting for 37 cases, accounting for 61.7%.(2)The VAS score of the two groups before treatment was P > 0.05,there was no significant difference and comparability;after three courses of treatment, the VAS score was lower than that before treatment, and there was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).There was significant difference between the two groups(P <0.01).It can be concluded that both electro-acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group can reduce tinnitus loudness, and the effect of electro-acupuncture group is more significant than that of conventional acupuncture group.(3)The THI score of the two groups before treatment was P > 0.05,there was no significant difference and comparability;after three courses of treatment, the THI score was lower than before treatment, and there was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).There was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).It can be concluded that both the electro-acupuncture group and the conventional acupuncture group can improve the social life, work, study and psychological state of tinnitus patients, and reduce the influence of tinnitus on their daily life, and the effect of electro-acupuncture group is more significant than that of the conventional acupuncture group.(4)The blood flow velocity of the left vertebral artery in the two groups before treatment was P > 0.05,the difference was not significant and comparable. The blood flow velocity of the right vertebral artery was P > 0.05,the difference was not significant and comparable. The basilar artery blood flow velocity was P > 0.05,the difference was not significant and comparable. After three courses of treatment, the blood flow velocity of the left vertebral artery in the two groups was not significant and comparable.Compared with before treatment, both groups were improved. There wassignificant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).The blood flow velocity of right vertebral artery was improved compared with that before treatment. There was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).The basilar artery blood flow velocity was improved compared with that before treatment. There was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P >0.05).It can be concluded that both electro-acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group can improve vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity in tinnitus patients.(5)Two groups of patients after three courses of treatment, according to THI score and VAS score to evaluate the efficacy of two different methods. In the electro-acupuncture group,7 cases were cured,12 cases were effective,8 cases were effective,3 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 90%.In the conventional acupuncture group,3cases were cured,9 cases were effective,11 cases were effective and 7 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 76.7%.The curative effect of the two groups after treatment was compared P < 0.05,the difference was statistically significant. Therefore, both electro-acupuncture and conventional acupuncture can improve tinnitus symptoms, and the therapeutic effect of electro-acupuncture is better than that of conventional acupuncture.Conclusion(1)Among the 60 patients with tinnitus, cervical spondylosis was the most common disease, followed by sleep disorders and hypertension.;(2)Both electro-acupuncture and conventional acupuncture can effectively reduce tinnitus loudness and severity and improve vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity inpatients with tinnitus.;(3)Both electro-acupuncture and conventional acupuncture have good therapeutic effect on tinnitus, and the therapeutic effect of electro-acupuncture is significantly better than that of conventional acupuncture.
