Object iveThrough the clinical randomized controlled trial (RCT),this study observes the clinical effect on the Heart-Spleen and Heart-Gallbladder types of insomnia treated by warm-acupuncture on Baihui point combined with electro-acupuncture. By comparing with simple electro-acupuncture, we discuss the clinical application value and significance of this treatment.MethodsThrough randomized controlled trial study design, we selected60cases of insomnia patients met the inclusion standards. The patients were randomly divided into the warm-acupuncture on Baihui Point combined with electro-acupuncture treatment group and the simple electro-acupuncture control group, both30cases. Both groups were treated the next day, totaly ten times. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) scale, as well as the symptom score sheet and the MOS item short from health survey, were observed and recorded before and after the treatment in both groups. Then we made the comprehensive efficacy evaluation according to the efficacy standard assessment.ResultIn improving the main symptoms, both groups can better improve listless, dizziness and other symptoms, differences were statistically significant (P <0.05)compared with before treatment. Between the two groups after treatment, difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), suggesting that the treatment group demonstrated greater improvement than the control group. From the PSQI scale points after treatment, the PSQI Scale total score, sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, sleep disturbances, daytime dysfunction were better than those before treatment in both groups, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Comparison between groups after treatment, in the PSQI scale score, sleep quality, sleep duration on these aspects, the treatment group received more improvement than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);in the areas of sleep time, sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction, the improvement of the two groups are similar, and there was no significant difference (P>0.05), so we still can not say that the treatment group was better than the control group in these areas. In improving the health situation of patients, after treatment, both groups can better improve patients’health situation, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Between the two groups after treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), suggesting that the efficacy of treatment group was superior than the control group in improving the health situation. In terms of overall efficacy, worm-acupuncture on Baihui Point combined with electro-acupuncture group (the total effective rate was97.67%)and the simple electro-acupuncture group(the total effective rate was90%) could both play a good therapeutic effect in patients with insomnia, respectively, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), suggesting that the treatment group was superior compared with the control group.ConclusionThe treatment of worm-acupuncture on baihui point combined with electro-acupuncture can better improve the sleep level of patients:1. improve the efficiency of sleep;2. improve the main symptoms;3. improve the quality of sleep, reduce the time to fall asleep, prolonge sleeping time, reduce sleep disturbance and daytime dysfunction;4. improve the health situation. The overall effective is better than the simple electro-acupuncture group.
