Objective: Through observing infantile anorexia in cardinal symptom, secondary symptom, daily cost and decoction time,it can be used controlled trials to evaluate the clinical and economic benefit of Yunpi Xingwei decoction in infantile anorexia, and to explore the superiority of Yunpi Xingwei decoction in the form of boiled powder. It can provide with a special solution of traditional Chinese medicine in a simple, convenient and cheap way to infantile anorexia, and the solution also provides clinical research data for further promotion and application of Yunpi Xingwei decoction in the form of powder for boiling.Method: 90 children with infantile anorexia(Spleen Fails to Transport and Transform Syndrome)were chosen from the pediatric department of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and equally divided into three groups, namely, traditional decoction group, powder group and granule group in the order of treatment. All children adopted the oral treatment of Yunpi Xingwei decoction, and the treatment lasted for 2 weeks,in which the index of the variation of syndrome integral, prescription charges, the time of decocting medicine and the time of taking medicine were observed and compared before treatment,7 and 14 days after treatment. The comparison of consequences has used one-way analysis of variance,chi-square test and rank sum test for data analysis.Results:(1)Compared with those before treatment, the three groups showed significant improvement in symptoms including appetite, complexion, halitosis and hiccough on days 7 and 14 days after treatment, the differencewith statistical significance(P<0.05).(2)Compared with those of traditional decoction group, the cardinal symptom and secondary symptom of powder group and granule group show no statistically difference(P > 0.05).(3)the daily cost of the powder group was less than the other two groups, the difference with statistical significance(P < 0.05).(4)The time of decocting medicine in the granule group was less than the other two groups, the difference with statistical significance(P < 0.05).The daily cost of the granule group was higher than the other two groups, the difference with statistical significance(P<0.05).(5)The time of taking medicine of powder group and granule group were significantly less than traditional decoction group, the difference with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion: Different dosage forms of Yunpi Xingwei decoction are effective in treating infantile anorexia. For the same clinical efficacy, the dosage used in the powder group was only half of that used in the other two groups.Besides, the powder group was significantly better than the traditional decoction group in the decoction time, daily cost and the time of taking medicine, and better than the granule group in cost. Thus, boiled powder fully reflects the advantages of simpleness, convenience and low price of traditional Chinese medicine. It can provide clinical basis for the application of boiled powder.
