Objective: To compare the surgically related indicators, postoperative gastro-intestinal function, complications, and recurrence of complete mesorectal resection and conventional surgical resection for patients with colon cancer, and to explore the value of complete mesorectal resection in patients with colon cancer. Methods: A total of 100 patients with colon cancer admitted to the Department of General Surgery,People's Hospital of Huaibei City from January 2015 to December 2016.random grouping. The control group used traditional surgical methods, while the observation group used complete mesorectal excision. The surgically-related indicators, postoperative gastrointestinal function, complications, and recurrence were compared between the two groups.Results:(1)Surgical related indicators: In the observation group, the number of intraoperative lymph node dissections was 20.4±7.6,which was significantly higher than that of the control group(16.3±5.3)(P<0.05).The observation time of the observation group was 203.6±32.5 min, which was significantly lower than that of the control group.225.3±26.6 min(P<0.05);The intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was 154.4±53.6 ml,which was significantly lower than that of the control group(235.4±85.6 ml)(P<0.05).(2)Postoperative gastro-intestinal function: The postoperative postoperative evacuation time was 4.1±1.2 days in the observation group, which was less than 5.0±1.4 days in the control group(P<0.05).The first intake time in the observation group was 5.0±1.1 days, which was less than that in the observation group. The control group was 5.9 ± 1.5 days(P < 0.05).(3)Postoperative complications and recurrence: The postoperative complication rate in the observation group was 14.0%,which was lower than 22.0% in the control group. The recurrence rate in the observation group was 2.0%,which was significantly lower than that in the control group(10%)(P<0.05).Conclusion: Complete mesorectal excision ensures colonic mesangial integrity, high central vascular ligation, and a greater number of lymph node dissections. The operation can effectively improve the prognosis of patients with colon cancer, with high safety and short-term efficacy.
