ObjectiveInvestigating the occurrence of occupational low back pain among nurses in different levels of hospitals in Zibo city and analyzing the relevant influencing factors to explore the main risk factors for occupational low back pain of nurses from different levels and perspectives. The results aim to improving the professional environment of nurses, reducing occupational injuries, enhancing the health of nurses, promoting the healthy development of nursing disciplines and ensuring the patients could receive quality care services.MethodsFrom June 2017 to September 2017,the stratified cluster sampling method was used to investigate the status of occupational low back pain and its related factors among nurses in 26 different hospitals in Zibo City.Using The Nordic Musculoskeletal Disease Standard Questionnaire?SCL-90 Scale and Gynecological disease symptoms self-test scale to investigate and analyze.SPSS 21.0 was used for data collation and input.Descriptive analysis was used to describe the basic situation of the subjects.T-test,one-way ANOVA and ?2 test were used to analyze the general demographic characteristics?work-related data and the severity of low back pain among nurses in different levels of hospitals;using single factor analysis to explore the prevalence of occupational low back pain in nurses with general demographic characteristics?work-related data?psychological factors and hospitals at different levels;using logistic regression analysis to explore the impact of general demographic characteristics?work-related data and psychological factors on the prevalence of occupational low back pain.Let ? = 0.05.Results(1)The prevalence of occupational low back pain among nurses in Zibo City was 70.3%,and that in primary hospitals, secondary hospitals and tertiary hospitals were respectively 72.7%,67.5%and 71.8%.There was no significant difference in the prevalence of occupational low back pain among nurses in different levels of hospitals by ?2 test(P>0.05).(2)The results of the severity of occupational low back pain in nurses at all levels of hospitals in Zibo City showed that:the scores of nurses' occupational low back pain severity in primary hospitals, secondary hospitals and tertiary hospitals were respectively 10.73±8.83,9.17±8.26 and 10.94 ±8.98.The analysis of variance of the severity of occupational low back pain among nurses in different level hospitals showed that the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01).There was a statistically significant difference in the severity of occupational low back pain among nurses in tertiary hospitals and secondary hospitals(P<0.001).There was a statistically difference in the severity of occupational low back pain among nurses in primary hospitals and secondary hospitals(P=0.059).The occupational low back pain of nurses in tertiary hospitals and primary hospitals was severe.(3)In different ages, genders, body mass index, professional title, education, marital status,child-rearing,nature of work unit, whether the unit provides knowledge training to prevent low back pain, whether to accept psychological training, bending time per day, bending times per day, working hours with the neck angled down per day, daily moving patients or lifting objects, lifting objects/patients' maximum weight, whether to work at night, the number of night shifts on duty, whether to arrange breaks during working hours, the number of breaks per day,the number of minutes per break and the SCL-90 symptom score, which were associated with the prevalence of low back pain(P<0.05).(4)Unconditional Logistic regression analysis showed that age,the number of night shifts per week, working hours with the neck angled down and mental health status were the four main variables that increase the risk of occupational low back pain, the training of low back pain protection knowledge and rest during work were the protective factors of occupational low back pain.Conclusions(1)the prevalence of occupational low back pain among nurses in Zibo was 70.3%,which was basically the same as the domestic prevalence rate.(2)The prevalence of occupational low back pain among nurses in Zibo City that in primary hospitals, secondary hospitals and tertiary hospitals were respectively 72.7%,67.5%and 71.8%.There was no significant difference in the prevalence rates among different levels of hospitals. However, the severity of occupational low back pain in nurses in tertiary hospitals was the same as that in primary hospitals, and both were significantly higher than that in secondary hospitals.(3)The controllable risk factors of occupational low back pain of nurses in Zibo City were the number of night shifts per week, working hours with the neck angled down per day and mental health status.Increased number of breaks during working hours and providing training on back pain protection are protective factors.Based on the research results, the following suggestions are made:(1)Reasonably configure the nurse's manpower, reasonably flexible scheduling, limit the number of weekly night shifts to reduce the risk of low back pain caused by night shifts.(2)Reasonably arrange short breaks during working according to the nature of work and duration, ensuring continuity of work and ensuring that nurses' bodies are able to get timely and effective relaxation.(3)Improve the mental health of nurses through multiple channels and methods.(4)Establish a systematic standardized training on low back pain protection to ensure the correct use of protective skills in daily work.
