Analysis The Effects Of Open Reduction And Internal Fixation Of Type ? Ulnar Styloid Fractures On Distai Radial Fractures

Objective:To investigate the effects of ORIF of type ? USF on the recovery of wrist function after DRF combined with type ? USF.Methods:This study involved 53patients(aged 23-85,average age is 56.4)of A2 and A3 DRF associated with type ? USF from March 2015 to June 2018 in Orthopaedic department of Yanbian University Hospital(Hand&Foot department),and there were 21 male and 32 female patients.They were classified by whether got surgical repair for ulnar styloid base fractures into case group(27 patients)and control group(26 patients).All patients underwent distal radial fracture ORIF with plate ande screws.The case group patients were fixated with the 8-Figure tension band for ulnar styloid base fractures and achieved the standard of anatomical reduaction.During the regular follow-up,we measured the palmar tilt angle,radial inclination and the height of radius.We also measured the wrist range of motion and complications.At the final follow-up we measured and analyzed the Gartland-Werley score and DASH score and evaluate the results.Follow-up 12-36 months.Result:1.At last5the actual number of successfully follow-up patients was 40(case group-21 patients,control group-19 patients),because 13 patients were misfollow-uped for some reasons.2.T-test of data of X-ray examination showed that there were statistically significant in two groups at preoperation with postoperation and final follow-up,(case group P<0.001,control group P<0.005).However,there ware no statistical change at postoperation and final follow-up,(P>0.05).3.There were statistical significances in the wrist range of motion between two groups,(P<0.05).4.There were 4 complications in the case group and 10 in the control group,so the complication rate of case group(19%)was higher than control group(53%).5.Through the analyzing the data by Gartland-Werley system5the rate of excellent in the case group(85.7%)was higher than the control group(52.6%)and there were statistically significant in two groups,(P<0.05).The DASH average score of case group was 34.57±3.36,and control group was 41.79±4.215so there were statistically significant in two groups,(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.ORIF of type ? USF plays a significant role in the recovery of wrist function after DRF operation.2.ORIF of type ? USF is beneficial for reducing the incidences of complication.
