Objectives:1. To describe the status quo of nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital;2. To compare nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital among different gender, different educational background and different family environment;3. To investigate and analyze some factors associated with nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital;4. To put forward training strategies for creating caring climate in hospital. Subjects and Methods:Subjects: Students in two 3-A-Class hospitals, teaching hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, People's Republic of China in Wuhan for clinical practice.Methods: There are two parts in the questionnaire. (A) Demographic information such as gender, age, educational background, and nationality, (B) Nursing students'perception of hospital caring environment questionnaire, which include 4 parts, the perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for patients, the perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for students, the perception of the peers in hospital, and the perception of the other medical workers in wards. Finally, SPSS software for windows version 15.0 was applied to analyze the data.Results:1. The overall status quo of nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital: The total average score was 4.01±0.60, the average score of perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for patients was 3.90±0.64, the average score of perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for students was4.03±0.72, the average score of perception of the peers in hospital was the highest 4.21±0.67, the average score of perception of the other medical workers in wards was the lowest 3.87±0.81.2. The condition of different background nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital2.1 The condition of perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for patients. Male nursing students'average score was lower than female nursing students'in total and professional caring subscale. There were significant differences in nursing students with different educational levels, the average score of students in Technical Secondary Schools was the highest, and the average score of undergraduate students was the lowest. One-child students'mean score was higher than non-only child students'.2.2 The condition of perception of the one-to-one nursing teacher's caring for students. Male nursing students'average score was lower than female nursing students'in total and the two subscales.2.3 The condition of perception of the peers in hospital. Students of different educational levels have different average scores, the average score of college students was the highest, and the average score of undergraduate students was the lowest.2.4 The condition of perception of the other medical workers in wards. There was significant difference in nursing students with different sexual, male's score was lower than female's.3. Influencing factors associated with nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital The caring atmosphere in school and family affects the nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital. The more, the better.Conclusions:1.Strengthen the cultivation of nursers'communication consciousness and ability.2.Nursing students'perception of caring climate in hospital includes several aspects, and the score of perception of the other medical workers in wards was the lowest, that means it is necessary to cultivate their caring cognition and ability. 3.The average score among different background nursing students was statistically different, which shows we should implement caring education according to the backgrounds of students.4.Nursing students'caring perception is influenced by the atmosphere of school and family. The more nursing students perceive caring in the school and family, the more they learn a profession way of being. So it is important to creating dense caring culture atmosphere for enhancing caring perception.
