ObjectiveChronic fatigue syndrome(chronic fatigue syndrome,CFS)is a special manifestation of sub-health state, with serious long-term sense of fatigue(at least more than half a year)in the clinical manifestations.Accompanied by insomnia, memory loss, muscle pain, and many mental and nervous symptoms,CFS is a complex disorder syndrome with no characteristics of other organic and mental diseases. In the modern working and living environment, the patients suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome are increasing, but there is no specific drug treatment for this disease in the clinic at present. Therefore,it is urgent to solve the clinical problems with a safe, effective, and non-toxic treatment. The clinical feature of “Simple, effective, convenient and cheap”,direct effect and less side-effect plays a very important role in the treatment of various chronic diseases in acupuncture therapy. This research optimizes acupuncture treatment by providing clinical thinking and comparing two confirmed and effective methods commonly used in clinic.MethodAccording to the inclusion criteria of 60 cases of patients, they were randomly divided into electro-acupuncture group and catgut implantation group. The electro-acupuncture group selected ten parts(single acupoint recorded as 1 part, two acupoints for two parts)for 30-minutes treatment, and one course of treatment lasts for 2 times a week for 4 weeks. While the catgut implantation group was treated once a week for 4 times by selecting ten parts(single acupoint recorded as 1 part, two acupoints for two parts). The curative effect was evaluated after one course of treatment.ResultAfter one course of treatment, the clinical symptoms of fatigue, fatigue severity,Symptom complication score before and after treatment,,anterior and posterior sides of the body and mental health report were improved for two groups of patients after treatment(P<0.05).Many aspects comparation showing that there is no significant difference between two group(P>0.05),this is mean the treatment of the electro-acupuncture group is equivalent to and catgut implantation group.Very obvious statistical differents in anterior and posterior sides of the body and mental health report between two groups showing catgut implantation group was better than electro-acupuncture group. There is no significant difference(P>0.05)in the overall efficacy ratio between two groups, and the rate of electro-acupuncture group and the catgut implantation group was 90% and 86.67% respectively.Hence, the overall effect of electro-acupuncture group is equivalent to the catgut implantation group. There is statistical difference(P<0.05)for the score of Qi-deficiency.However,the score decreased significantly after treatment and there was no significant difference between them, displaying that the two methods can improve curative effect equally in the treatment of qi-deficiency syndrome.ConclusionThe results of this study demonstrated that the therapeutic effect of the electro-acupuncture group is equivalent to catgut implantation group in many aspects, but superior to the electro-acupuncture group in the anterior and posterior sides of the body and mental health report, though obvious improvement among two groups. Both of the two treatments are effective, less side effects and safe, but convenience of less frequency to hospital and less time in treatment, catgut implantation treatment will overweight other treatments, will be widely use in clinic in the future.
