Objective:This article aims at using acupoint catgut implantationtreatment to treat patients who has simple obesity in spleen-deficient anddamp-stagnation type. Observing the efficacies and comparing with thosetreating by electro-acupuncture method, Thus providing clinical efficacyanalysis basis for treating simple obesity in spleen-deficient anddamp-stagnation type with acupoint catgut implantation method.Method: Choose60patients who have simple obesity, then divided them intotwo groups randomly, acupoint catgut implantation group (observation group)and electro-acupuncture group (control group), each group has30cases.Through the method of before-after self control study and comparison betweengroups, observe the changes before and after the treatment at some aspects, such as weight, body mass index, bust, waist and hip circumference and symptom.Result: After two courses of treatment, there are significantimprovements of patients’ weight, body mass index, waist and hipcircumference and followed syndromes,. The statistics analysis showsthat:within the groups:compared with the conditions before the treatment.theweight, body mass index and waist, hip circumference, and symptom score ofthe patient all descend significantly after one and two period treatment, there is significant difference (P<0.05). The chest circumference of twogroups also has notable difference after one and two period treatments(P>0.05); group comparison shows that compared with the conditions before the treatment, there is no significant difference at thus aspects such as weight, body mass index and waist, hip circumference and symptom score after one andtwo period treatment,(P>0.05), so as the followed syndrome. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that acupoint catgutimplantation therapy has very good efficacy on simple obesity inspleen-deficient and damp-stagnation type, and it has no significantdifference than electro-acupuncture.
