Aim: In this study,we aim to analyze the clinical pathological features of 309 gastric cancer patients from Changshu No.1 People's Hospital, providing data for improving gastric cancer early detection and prognostic outcome. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on clinical pathological data from 309 gastric cancer patients who received gastric cancer surgery during 2011 to 2014.Patients were separated into three groups by age in this study(group 1,age?40 years old;group 2,age between 41 to 65 years old;group 3,age > 65 years old).Patients' clinical pathological features, including age, sex, tumor site, pathological type, clinical stage and nerve vascular invasion status, were analyzed in all patients. Results: Our data indicated that gastric cancer had higher incidence in patients older than 40 years old.Gastric cancer incidence was higher in male than female. Most gastric cancers were localized at antrum or body part of the stomach(79.29%).The major gastric cancers were Borrman II type(51.13%).Adenocarcinoma is the dominant pathological type in all patients(91.13%).62.14% patients had poorly differentiated gastric cancer. The major gastric cancer pathological status is T4(72.49%)for invasion degree,N3(32.04%)for lymph node metastasis status, and Stage III(48.87%)for TNM staging. In all gastric cancer patients, early gastric cancer percentage was significantly lower than advanced gastric cancer in our study. Conclusions: Gastric cancer was more common in male older than 40 years old. Most gastric cancer patients were diagnosed in late stage.Effort is needed for improving gastric cancer early diagnosis.
