Effects Of Using Cheezheng Qingpeng Ointment In Patients With Post-stroke Shoulder-hand Syndrome

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Cheezheng Qingpeng ointment in the treatment of post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome.To provide an objective basis for a perfect therapeutic treatment of post-stroke SHS.MethodsThe study is a prospective,randomized control trail.Patients who suffered from post-stroke SHS were randomly divided into experiment group and control group with a fixed distribution.The patients in the experiment group received the treatment of Cheezheng Qingpeng ointment and routine treatment,while the patients in the control group only received routine treatment.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.We evaluated the scores of VAS,ROM,FMA-U and MBI before and after the course of treatment,and all adverse events were recorded.Then data from the trail was statistical analyzed in two groups,between two groups and in classified ways.Finally,the study came to conclusions.Results1.Comparison in baseline: There was no significant difference between the general information,the scores of VAS,ROM,FMA-U and MBI before the study of patients in two groups(P>0.05).2.Comparison in the same group:For the treatment group,the pain of upper extremity,range of motion,upper limb motor function and activities of daily living were significantly changed after the treatment(P<0.05).While for the control group,activities of daily living had a significant change(P<0.05),the pain of upper extremity and overall range of motion could not be improved,and there was no significant change in upper limb motor function(P>0.05).3.Comparison in different groups: The differences between two groups suggested that the therapeutic effects of pain and ROM in treatment group was much better than control group(P<0.05),while the improvement of upper limb motor function and activities of daily living in two groups had no significant difference(P>0.05).4.Comparison in classified groups:There was no significant influence by classifying ages,the course of disease and etiology in two groups(P>0.05).5.About safety: No serious,treatment-related events occurred.ConclusionThe study found that Cheezheng Qingpeng ointment is effective in treating post-stroke SHS,which can improve the patient's upper extremity pain,range of motion,upper limb motor function and activities of daily living,especially in relieving pain and improving range of motion in a secure way.
