Analysis The Effects Of Modified Orbicularis Oculi Muscle Shortening Combined With Lid Shortening In The Treatment Of Involutional Lower Eyelid Entropion

Objective:To analyze the effects of modified orbicularis oculi muscle shortening combined with lid shortening in the treatment of involutional lower eyelid entropion.Methods:From January 2015 to October 2016,128 cases(190 eyes)of involutional lower eyelid entropion in the Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University were selected as the research objects.They were divided into the contrast group(64 cases,93 eyes),including 23 males and 41 females,patients aged from 63 to 88 years old,and 64 cases(97 eyes)in the modified group,including 24 males,40 females,patients aged from 60 to 85 years old.According to the degree of entropion,the two groups were divided into mild,moderate and severe groups.In the contrast group,the traditional orbicularis oculi muscle shortening combined with skin excision was performed.The modified orbicularis oculi muscle shortening combined with lid shortening was performed in the modified group.All patients were followed up for 1 weeks,1 months,6 months and 1 year.The short-term and long-term outcomes(recurrence,ectropion)were compared between the two groups.Results:1.After 1 year of follow-up,the cure rate of the modified group was significantly higher than that of the contrast group(89.69%vs 70.97%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The failure rate of the contrast group was higher than that in the modified group(22.58%vs 2.06%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The incidence rate of ectropion in the contrast group was higher than that in the modified group(9.7%vs 2.1%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The curative rate of mild and moderate entropion groups in the contrast group and modified group was higher than that of the severe entropion group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.There was no significant difference in the cure rate of mild entropion group between the two groups(P>0.05),and the cure rate of moderate and severe entropion group in the modified group was higher than that in the contrast group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.In the treatment of mild involutional lower eyelid entropion,the traditional orbicularis oculi muscle shortening combined with skin excision is effective.2.In the treatment of moderate and severe involutional lower eyelid entropion,the effectness of modified orbicularis oculi muscle shortening combined with lid shortening is better than that of the traditional orbicularis muscle shortening combined with skin excision.
