Clinical Observation Of Wumei Zaoren Decoction For The Treatment Of Type 2 Diabetes With Insomnia

Objective:Investigate the effect of Wumei Zaoren decoction on the clinical symptoms,blood glucose drift and islet function of type 2 diabetes with insomnia caused by cold and heat syndrome,and evaluate its efficacy and safety.Methods:According to the randomized parallel controlled trial criteria,60 patients who met the participation criteria were divided into treatment group(30 patients treated with Wumei Zaoren Decoction)and control group(30 patients treated with Wuling capsule).All patients in two groups were treated for 4 weeks.Before and after treatment,blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,insulin determination and safety were examined in both groups,calculation of blood glucose drift and insulin resistance index,insulin secretion index,The efficacy and safety of Wumei Zaoren Decoction were comprehensively analyzed based on Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores and TCM clinical symptom scores.Result:The two groups were comparable in sex,age,course of disease and body mass index(P>0.05).In treatment group,fasting blood glucose,2 hour postprandial blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,blood glucose excursion,Insulin resistance index decreased,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);in the control group,fasting blood glucose,2 hour postprandial blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,blood glucose excursion,insulin resistance index decreased,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The fasting insulin and insulin secretion index in the treatment group increased significantly compared with that before treatment(P<0.05);The fasting insulin and insulin secretion index in the control group increased compared with that before treatment but it was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The two groups after treatment in Pittsburgh sleep quality index score were decreased(P<0.05).In the treatment group,the effective rate of TCM syndrome score was 90%and the control group was 73.3%.The difference was statistically significant(P=0.036<0.05).The comprehensive effective rate of insomnia in the two groups was 86.67%,the control group was 80%,and the difference between the two groups were statistically(P=0.045<0.05).Conclusion:Through this clinical study,it was found that Wumei Zaoren Decoction significantly improves the clinical symptoms of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with insomnia caused by cold and heat syndrome,and can effectively reduce the level of blood glucose,reduce blood glucose drift,improve islet function,.It is safe and has certain clinical research and application value.
