Objective:First,we should classify gummy smile according to the area of gingival exposure,and analyze the muscle associated with the different types of gummy smile.According to different types of gummy smile and different main muscles,the subjects with different types of gummy smile were given individualized injection therapy according to their own conditions,and analyze the improvement of different types of gummy smile.Methods:Estimate the spontaneous smiles of 64 patients with gummy smile before botulinum toxin A injection.Measure the gummy exposure between the left and right canine teeth and the middle line by computer Photo-shop software.Measure the gummy exposure posterior to left and right canines.Mazzuco and Hexsel^[1classified gummy smile into four types according to the area of excessive gingival exposure of smiling subjects.They were Anterior type,posterior type,mixed type,and asymmetrical type.Mazzuco and Hexsel's viewpoint were adopted to classify 64 subjects of gummy smile.Based on some advanced analysis related to muscles about gummy smile,summed up the leading role of different types muscles,..Accurate quantitative injection of different types of.gummy smile.After 30 days,measure the gummy exposure between the left and right canine teeth and the middle line and measure the gummy exposure posterior to left and right canines.,Comparing the degree of improvement of gingival exposure of spontaneous smile before and after treatment,evaluate the therapeutic effect of botulinum toxin A on different types of gummy smile.Ask the subjects to fill in the feedback questionnaire after 30 days.Through the analysis of the feedback questionnaires,assess the degree of satisfaction,side effects and time of occurrence of therapeutic effect,etc.Results: Gingival exposure was improved in different types of subjects.The improvement rate was 100%and the average gingival height was reduced by2.074mm.36 subjects were temporarily cured after treatment,and the gingival conditions of 28 subjects were relieved but still accorded with the diagnosis of gummy smile.4 of the subjects began to develop bilateral asymmetry symptoms 13 days after the injection,and 30 days later they received a supplemental injection,which improved the situation.No subjects reported stiff smiles and other discomfort.The average satisfaction score of the subjects after 30 days of injection was 4.81.After treatment,the subjects showed a more harmonious,beautiful smile.he adverse reactions were easily alleviated and reversible.Most of the subjects were satisfied with the results of the treatment.And 56 participants said they were willing to receive repeated injections when gums recur,and 40 said they were willing to recommend the treatment to friends with similar symptoms.Conclusion:the author believes that with the increasing awareness of beauty seeking,people will pay more and more attention to gummy smile.According to the clinical manifestations of patients,the types of gummy smile will be determined,and the main muscles involved will be analyzed.It is important to choose the individualized injection technique according to the type of gummy smile.This kind of individualized treatment will increase the satisfaction of the patients after treatment and make the spontaneous smile more natural.Judging from current samples,botulinum toxin type A is safe,effective and popular for the treatment of different types of gummy smile.
