Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect of acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy and compare the diffrent clinical curative effect for children with amblyopia in different age groups and different severe extent by comparing the two indexes---visual acuity and patten visual evoked potential(P-VEP)before and after the treatment. Methods:We chose 39 amblyopic children(75 eyes)aged from 3 to 12 years old in the eye clinic of Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November,2015 to September,2016.They were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to the principle of randomization. On the basis of medical refraction and correct the diopter, they wore glasses and covered their healthy eyes or two amblyopic eyes in turn.Than the children in the control group were treated by the acupuncture therapy and the children in the experimental group were treated by the auricular-plaster therapy. Both of them were treated for 3 months. We detected Visual acuity and P-VEP respectively at the time when the treatment started and finished.Results:1.Curative effect:The total effective rate of the control group reached 82.36% and the experimental group reached 92.69%.The curative effect of the two groups was upon inspection,P<0.05,it had statistical difference. That means the curative effect of the acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy was better than acupuncture therapy.2.In the comparison of different age groups, the curative effect of 3~6 years old was better than that of 7~12 years old,P<0.05.It had statistical difference. For the children of3~6 years old,the curative effect of the acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy was better than acupuncture therapy(P<0.05).For the children of 7~12 years old, there was no significant difference between this two methods(P>0.05).3.In the comparison of different severity, mild amblyopia had the best effect;moderate amblyopia took second place and the severe amblyopia was the worst(P<0.05).It had significant difference. For mild and moderate amblyopia, the curative effect of the acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy is better(P<0.05);for severe amblyopia, there was no significant difference between this two methods(P>0.05).4.Visual acuity became higher after the children with amblyopia were treated(P<0.01).But in the comparison of visual acuity after the treatment between the control group and the experimental group, there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).That means this two methods could both improve visual acuity but had no advantage of significant difference.5.P-VEP P100 wave latency was significantly shortened and amplitude was improved significantly after the treatment(P<0.05).All the comparison on shortening the latency and improving the amplitude had statistically significant difference(P<0.05)except severe amblyopia(P>0.05).That means this two methods could both shorten the latency and improve the amplitude, but acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy was more effective. For different age groups, mild and moderate amblyopia, acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy was more effective.Conclusion:(1)The acupuncture and auricular-plaster therapy can improve the visual acuity of amblyopia significantly, shorten the P100 wave latent and increase the amplitude. It's better than acupuncture therapy, and it can be widely used in clinic.(2)Compared with amblyopic children of 7~12 year old,the children of 3~6 years old have the better curative effect. So in the critical period of visual development, early detection and treatment of amblyopia is very important.(3)With the severe extent of amblyopia becomes more serious, the clinical effect becomes worse. For severe amblyopia, its better therapy and curative effect remains to be further reaserched.
