Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of gastrin G?17 in gastric cancer by detecting the serum levels of G?17 for fasting and postprandial and increasing levels of G?17 after protein meal in patients with chronic superficial gastritis(CSG),chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)and gastric cancer(GC).Methods: 60 patients with chronic superficial gastritis(CSG),60 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)and 33 patients with gastric cancer(GC)by endoscopy and histological diagnosis were selected from November 2014 ? May 2015 in Qinghai provincial people's hospital. The serum levels of G?17 for fasting and postprandial and increasing levels of G?17 after protein meal in each group were measured using enzyme?linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the expressive differences of G?17 in each group were analyzed. Results: 1.The levels of fasting gastrin G?17 were(15.49 ± 2.00)pmol / L,(11.43 ± 1.73)pmol / L,and(13.58 ± 2.42)pmol / L in GC,CAG,and CSG group respectively, there were significant differences among the three groups(P <0.05),the levels were: GC group> CSG group> CAG group.2.The levels of postprandial gastrin G?17 were(15.62 ± 2.17)pmol / L,(12.85 ± 2.79)pmol / L,and(17.59 ± 3.06)pmol / L in GC,CAG,and CSG group respectively, there were significant differences among the three groups(P <0.05),the levels of postprandial gastrin G?17 in CSG group were higher than those of GC and CAG groups(P <0.05),there was no significant difference between GC and CAG group(P> 0.05).3.The increasing levels of gastrin G?17 after protein meal were(6.99 ± 0.91)pmol / L,(4.97 ± 0.84)pmol / L,and(8.89 ± 1.05)pmol / L in GC,CAG,and CSG group respectively, there were significant differences among the three groups(P <0.05),the increasing levels of gastrin G?17 after protein meal in CSG group were higher than those of GC and CAG groups(P <0.05),there was no significant difference between GC and CAG group(P> 0.05).Conclusion: The serum levels of G?17 for fasting and postprandial and increasing levels of G?17 after protein meal could be serve as an important screening index for gastric cancer and chronic atrophic gastritis.
