Objective:Body composition refers to the total weight of the human body contains different composition of body composition,mainly including body fat rate,body fat,fat weight and muscle mass,bone mass and moisture content in the body,etc.Children are in the developing period,so the body composition also shows the tendency of dynamic change.To a certain extent,the composition proportion of body composition reflects the comprehensive influence of many factors,such as:age,gender,regional,ethnic,growth,nutrition level,economic level,and physical exercise et al.This study was to explore development regularities and characteristics of Hui nationality children body composition in Nanyang region,and compared these data with other regions,In order to understand the status of the Hui children body composition in Nanyang region,which provides scientific basis for its healthy growth to guide the nutritional status,and provide reference for health care measures,also accumulated data for the evaluation of dynamic change of child and adolescent growth in future.Materials and methods:A total of 1615 hui nationality children and adolescent aged 6 to 17 were extracted from 5 primary schools,5 middle schools and nanyang medical college,the height,weight and body composition were measured,respectively.The height was measured by a metal sitting body height gauge,the Japanese TANITA corporation MC-180 type body composition measurement instrument(bioelectrical impedance analysis)were used to determine of body weight,FM,FFM,PBF,bone mass,muscle mass,BMI,body moisture rate and basal metabolic rate,etc.To determine overweight and obesity the PBF way:overweight:women 24%to 30%,male 21%to 25%.Obesity:women>30%and>25%for men.To compare the Nanyang Hui students’ height,weight,body fat rate,and lean body mass with Dalian Han students in 2012,respectively.Results:1.The height,weight,body fat rate,body fat,fat-free body weight,muscle mass,bone mass,BMI and basal metabolic rate of Nanyang Hui 6 to 17 years old male and female students generally increased with the growth of the age,the growth curvature presented increasing trend;Moisture content declined as the growth of age,the gender difference of growth trend became obvious after age 12;the growth trend of growth curve of body fat rate and fat-free body weight were slow in male relative to female.The growth curve of male body fat fluctuated after age 11,the growth curve of female increased obviously at age 14,but after 14,the growth trend became slow.Muscle mass and fat-free body weight growth curve increased with the growth of age.After 12 years old,the difference of growth trend between male and female became obvious;the growth curve of basal metabolic rate approached at the age of 6 to 11,but the difference of growth trend between male and female became clear after 12 years old.Bone growth curve were consistent between male and female in 6 to 12 years old.The gender difference of growth trend of all above indexes became obvious after age 12.2.The muscle mass,fat-free body weight,and basal metabolic rate had significantly gender difference in Nanyang Hui nationality students in all ages.Shape index and other body composition index had gender difference in some age.Only fat rate and fat mass of female was more than male,the rest indexes of male were more than female’s.3.The height and weight of 6 to 17 years old Nanyang Hui students in 2013 were significantly different with Dalian Han in 2012.4.The body fat rate,fat-free body weight of 6 to 17 years old Nanyang Hui students in 2013 were lower than that of dalian Han nationality students in 2012.5.BMI of 6 to 17 years old male Nanyang Hui in 2013 were lower than Dalian Han in 2012.All the female age groups except 14 years old age group,BMI of Nanyang Hui were lower than that of Dalian Han students.6.The obesity detection rate of Nanyang Hui students were 15.1%in male,38.5%in female.Conclusion:1.The height,weight and body composition ratio of Nanyang Hui 6 to 17 years old children conforms to child and adolescent growth and development rules.2.The muscle mass,fat-free body weight and basal metabolic rate of Nanyang Hui students have significantly gender difference in all age groups.The shape index and other body composition index have gender difference in some age group.3.The height and weight index of Nanyang Hui students are lower than that of Dalian students.There are regional differences,which may indicate that the Hui nationality students’ physical development and nutritional levels lower than Dalian Han students.4.The rate of body fat and lean body mass,BMI of Nanyang hui students are lower than in Dalian area,there are regional differences.5.The obesity detection rate of Nanyang Hui students is much higher than the national standard,the grim situation of control children’s obesity.
