Purpose:Through the clinical comparative study on the confrontation acupuncture and PEG treating the qi deficiency type of senile chronic constipation to objectively evaluate the clinical effect and safety of the confrontation acupuncture.Methods:The study applied randomized controlled method to divided 70 qi deficiency type of senile chronic constipation cases according with the inclusion criteria into the confrontation acupuncture group(experimental group)and PEG group(control group).Each group had 35 cases and was continuously treated for two courses.Each course was 7 days.Observing and comparing the difference of defecation times per week,patient assessment of constipation quality of life questionnaire(PAC-QOL),patient assessment of constipation symptom(PAC-SYM),qi deficiency symptoms hierarchical quantification table among prior treatment,post treatment and 4 weeks after treatment(follow-up period).Using the SPSS 21.0 to analyze the score of these rating scales to evaluate curative effect.Results:1.The baseline information had no statistical differences between the two groups in sex,age,disease course and defecation times per week,PAC-QOL score,PAC-SYM score,qi deficiency symptoms score,which was comparable.2.Compared with their own prior treatment score,the score of post treatment and follow-up period in two groups had statistical differences on defecation times per week,PAC-QOL,PAC-SYM and qi deficiency symptoms.Except the defecation times per week had statistical differences between post treatment and follow-up period in control group,the other curative effect indexes had no statistical differences between post treatment and follow-up period in these two groups.3.Except the defecation times per week,the score of PAC-QOL,PAC-SYM and qi deficiency symptoms in post treatment and follow-up period had statisticaldifferences between the two groups.4.The total effective rate of experimental group after treatment was83.33%,while the control group was 71.88%.The total effective rate of experimental group in follow-up period was 76.67%,while the control group was 62.50%.It had no statistical differences between the two groups in post treatment and follow-up period.5.The safety and compliance had no statistical differences between the two groups.Conclusion:1.The two therapies of confrontation acupuncture and PEG all had satisfactory short-term and long-term effect on qi deficiency type of senile chronic constipation,and the effect was similar between the two groups.2.The two therapies of confrontation acupuncture and PEG could improve the quality of life and clinical symptoms,while the confrontation acupuncture was superior to PEG.3.The confrontation acupuncture and PEG had good safety and compliance.
