Observation On The Efficacy Of Paraxial Acupuncture On Different TCM Constitutions Of Lumbar Disc Herniation

Research objectivesThis research starts with the study of the curative effect of the paraxial acupuncture method compared with the common acupuncture method,contrast the curative effect of the paraxial acupuncture method on the patients with lumbar disc herniation with the different constitutions of TCM.In order to know the appropriate treatment stage of paraxial acupuncture,and to find a more sensitive constitution for the treatment of the paraxial acupuncture method,provide a basis for the selective application of the method in clinical practice.MethodsAll patients are from Acupuncture Department of Mianyang TCM Hospital,150 of them diagnosis for lumbar disc herniation and their constitutions of TCM are the type of blood stasis,mild or yang deficiency.They are divided into two groups randomly,75 of which is the treatment group and the rest of which belong to control group.At the same time,in two groups,three kinds of constitutions all have 25.To observe the clinical effect?Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)? The Japanese Association for Department of orthopedics curative effect of low back pain assessment(JOA)?Roland-morris Dysfunction Questionnaire(RMDQ)?Fear-avoidance beliefs questionnaire(FABQ)of two groups of patients before entering the group,the 7th day of treatment and the 14 th days after treatment.Results1.After one course of treatment,both paraxial acupuncture and common acupuncture reduced the patients' VAS and RMDQ scores(P<0.05),and the JOA scores increased(P<0.05).Compared with common acupuncture,paraxial acupuncture had a greater impact on VAS,JOA,and RMDQ scores(P<0.05).However,the FABQ score of the patients declined but there was no statisticalsignificance(P>0.05).After all treatments,paraxial acupuncture and common acupuncture reduced VAS and RMDQ scores(P<0.05),and JOA scores increased(P<0.05).However,VAS,RMDQ,and JOA scores of common acupuncture and paraxial acupuncture groups were not statistical differences(P>0.05);In addition,FABQ scores of the two groups were not statistically significant before treatment(P>0.05).It shows that both treatments are effective for lumbar disc herniation,but paraxial acupuncture can relieve pain more quickly and improve dysfunction in the early stage.In addition,the effects of both therapies on mood are small.2.After one course of paraxial acupuncture treatment,the scores of VAS and RMDQ in patients with three types were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and JOA scores were higher than before treatment(P<0.05);And the scores of VAS,RMDQ and JOA in patients with blood-stasis type were different of the other two constitution groups(P<0.05).After the acupuncture treatment,the VAS and RMDQ scores of patients in the three constitution groups decreased(P<0.05)and JOA scores increased(P<0.05)before treatment,but there was no difference in VAS,RMDQ,and JOA scores among the three constitution groups(P>0.05).It shows that paraxial acupuncture has a curative effect on patients with lumbar intervertebral discs with blood-stasis type,gentleness type and yang-deficiency type,and has a better initial effect on blood-stasis type.Conclusion1.Compared with ordinary acupuncture,paraxial acupuncture for lumbar disc herniation has better pretreatment effect,which can reduce pain and improve function more quickly.2.The paraxial acupuncture has different effects on lumbar disc herniation of different conditions.Paraxial acupuncture has a more prominent effect on patients with blood-stasis type than ohers.
