ObjectiveTo explore the effect of transitional care on nausea and vomiting, the negative emotion and coping styles of patients with anticipatory nausea and vomiting(ANV),in order to provide effective nursing intervention for patients with ANV.MethodA total of 66 patients with ANV in the oncology department of the affiliated hospital of Qingdao university from January 2017 to October 2017 were enrolled by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into intervention group(n=33)and control group(n=33).The patients in the control group received regular discharge instruction and health education before discharge, while the patients in the intervention group received both regular guidance and transitional care until their readmission.Self-designed demographic questionnaire, standard of the acute and subacute toxicity for anti-cancer drugs developed by WHO,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS)and simple coping styles questionnaire were used to investigate patients before and after the intervention.SPSS 22.0 analysis software was used to compare the anticipatory nausea and vomiting grading, the scores of anxiety state, the scores of depression state and the scores of self-coping styles.Rank sum test was used for ANV,quantitative data SAS,SDS and scores of self-coping styles were analyzed by independent sample t test was used to compare group comparison and paired sample t test was used for intra group comparison. The difference was statistically significant in P<0.05.Results1.There were no statistically significant differences of ANV grading between control and intervention group before invention(Z=-0.333,P=0.379),but there were significant differences between the two groups after invention(Z=3.964,P<0.001).2.There were no significant differences in SAS,SDS and coping style scoresbetween two groups before intervention(P>0.05).After intervention, there were significant differences between two groups, the SAS scores(44.36±4.23 vs 53.52±4.61,t=8.419,P<0.001),SDS scores(43.22±2.62 vs51.63±5.93,t=7.450,P<0.001),positive coping style(23.85±2.84 vs 19.30±2.32,t=-7.113,P<0.001),and negative coping style(13.48±1.37 vs 16.33±1.96,t=6.832,P<0.001).3.Significant differences were found in scores of SAS(54.73±4.08 vs44.36±4.23),SDS(53.56±2.03 vs 43.22±2.62),positive coping style(19.76±3.86 vs23.85±2.84)and negative coping style(17.55±1.58 vs 13.48±1.37),before and after intervention in intervention group(P<0.001).ConclusionsTransitional care can reduce the degree of ANV,relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improve self-coping ability of patients with malignant tumor. It is worth to be promoted in patients with ANV undergoing chemotherapy.
