Objectives: To develop a Knowledge-Attitude-Practice(KAP)scale for providing an useful measurement for assessing the status of oncology nurses' knowledge-Attitude-Practice for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.So as to provide theoretical basis for promoting the development of nursing for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.Methods: Combining the practice of nursing for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting work in China,literatures review,experts consultation,qualitative interview and panels discussion,we determined the scale dimensions and set up the item pool based on the framework of KAP theory.The experts were asked to assess the items of the scale by expert evaluation questionnaires.The items of the scale were modified and perfected combing the experts' opinions and suggestions.The initial scale was formed.Then 108 oncology nurses were randomly selected from the department of chemotherapy at a cancer hospital in Hunan province,then the Pre-survey was implemented.According to the result of item analysis and the Pre-survey feedback,further changes were made to the scale.Finally,the KAP scale for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting of oncology nurses was formed 355 oncology nurses from 4 Level 3 first-class hospitals in hunan province,were investigated by random selection.Excel office software was adopted to establish the database.SPSS 22.0 was adopted to test the reliability and validity of the KAP scale for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting of oncology nurses.Results: This study preliminarily finished the development of the KAP scale for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting of oncology nurses which contains 24 items that consist of three domains,Knowledge,Attitude and belief,Practice.For the scale,the Cronbach's ? was 0.754,the Split-half reliability was 0.827,and the Test-retest coefficient was 0.886;the S-CVI was 0.936,and the I-CVI were0.78~1.00.5 common factors were extracted by exploratory factors,and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 63.050%.Conclusions: The KAP scale for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting of oncology nurses was showed good reliability and validity.It can be used as a tool to evaluate the level of oncology nurses' knowledge-Attitude-Practice for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting.
