Objective:Summarizing the clinical and pathological features of nine patients with double primary cancers of breast and ovary to find out these patients' particularity.Discussing the possible causes and control measures and encouraging people to strengthen daily supervision to improve the living quality. Methods:The medical records of nine patients with double primary breast and ovarian cancer admitted in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University and the Central Hospital of Mian Yang between 2010 and 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Results:Among the 9 patients,6 patients were attacked by breast cancer firstly,2 patients were attacked by ovarian cancer firstly and 1patient was attacked by both breast and ovarian cancer at the same time.2patients' BRCA genes were detected and 1 patient's BRCA1 gene was found mutated. The first clinical symptom of breast cancer was the mammary mass in all cases and most patients were at the stage I/II.The first clinical symptom of ovarian cancer was abdominal distension in 6cases,unusual vaginal bleeding in 2 cases and the pelvic mass in 1 case, and most patients were at the stage III.5 patients with immunohistochemical results were ER negative, including 4 patients with triple-negative breast cancer. All breast patients underwent breast surgery and received chemotherapy,3 patients received radiotherapy and 1 patient took tamoxifen after surgery, while none received anti-HER-2 therapy.Besides one patient who refused ovarian surgery, the others all underwent operations for ovarian cancer. All patients with ovarian cancer received intravenous chemotherapy and 3 of them received intraperitoneal infusion chemotherapy, while none recieved radiotherapy. The median age of diagnose of the first cancer in the 9 patients was 46 years old,and the median interval time of the two cancers among these patients was 93 months.Furthermore, patients who were diagnosed with the first cancer at the age<45 years old had a median interval of 169 months between the diagnosis of two cancers and patients who were diagnosed with the first cancer at the age?45 years old had a shorter median interval of 36 months. The median interval in patients without family breast/ovarian cancer history was 122 months while patients with family history had a median interval of 21 months. There were 7 patients who had been konwn for the recurrence or metastasis of ovarian cancer and had a median progression-free survival time of 19 months. There were 3 patients died in the follow-up,two died of the recurrence or metastasis of ovarian cancer and one died unclearly.Conclution:Patients with double primary breast and ovarian cancer have a young age of onset. The patients who have the first cancer at an age? 45 s or have a family history tend to have a shorter median interval between the onsets of two cancers. Most patients have obvious clinical symptoms and advanced stage when they are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and the recurrence or metastasis of ovarian cancer will have a strong impact on patients' survival time.
