Background : Early diagnosis of shock is of great importance for observing the progress of shock and save lives of shock patients. However,in daily clinical work,it is hard to diagnose shock in a efficient way.The goal of our study was to investigate the manifestation of shock using infrared thermal imaging(IRIT)for early diagnosis and observation. Results This is an observation study. From Nov 2015 to Feb 2016,50 consecutive patients were enrolled,27 patients in hyperkinetic group and 23 patients in low flow group,30 patients in control group. An IRTI camera was used to obtain the mean temperature of Region of interest(ROI)in all patients. All collected data were converted into gray scale digital images with analyzing software for analysis. Results shows the differences of mean temperature of ROI exits significance between control and shock groups. Conclusion: IRIT can effectively detect the temperature change in shock patients. However,it fails to classify shock patients. Moreover, the toetip temperature detected by IRIT have a better correlation with the microcirculation perfusion.
