Objective: To investigate the knowledge,attitude and behavior of tobacco control among clinical nurses in tertiary hospitals of Qinhuangdao,and then analyze the influencing factors.It is expected to provide management suggestion and evidence for clinical nurses to improve tobacco control.Methods: Stratified cluster random sampling strategy was adopted to select a total of 500 clinical nurses from two tertiary hospitals in Qinhuangdao from June to September,in 2017.The participants were surveyed with the General Nurses General Information Questionnaire and the Nurses' Tobacco Control Knowledge Attitude and Behavior Scale.After retrieving the questionnaire,the data was entered into EXCEL and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0.The statistical methods included descriptive analysis,t-test,analysis of variance,and multiple stepwise regression analysis.Results: In this survey,500 questionnaires were distributed and 490 questionnaires were retrieved.The questionnaire recovery rate was 98.0%.Eight unqualified questionnaires were removed,and 481 effective questionnaires were obtained.The effective rate of the questionnaire was 98.2%.1.The knowledge of tobacco control among clinical nurses of the Tertiary Hospitals in Qinhuangdao city was 36.38±3.36.The highest correct answer rate was 98.1% for the item “Women and children were the main victims of passive smoking” and “The risk of active smoking increased the risk of neonatal death”,while the correct rate of answering to “the health-related harm of smoking is similar to the air pollution” were the lowest with 17.0%.The belief score of tobacco control was 32.07±2.03.The highest consent rate about 98.5% was found in the item of “The public should actively popularize the knowledge of passive smoking hazards” and “establishment of a quit smoking hotline and smoking cessation website helps to stop smoking”,on the other side,only 85.9% nurses agreed to "It is valid to give the patient a brief(eg,3 minutes)smoking cessation advice",which is the lowest consent rate;The behavior score of smoking control was 66.02±18.63.74.3% nurses could implement to "advise patients to stop smoking",while only 32.0% nurses could carry out to "arrange the smokers for the next visit”.2.The results of univariate analysis revealed that the knowledge score of tobacco control has a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)in the terms of education level,workload,work pressure,perception of tobacco control by nurses,available resources,tobacco control practices of others in the team,skills to help smokers quit smoking,the practice of educating smokers,experience of nursing the patients with smoking-related disease,and attention level to tobacco control information;the belief score of tobacco control demonstrated a statistical significance(P<0.05)in the dimensions of sources of tobacco control knowledge,workload,work pressure,support from colleagues,perception of tobacco control by nurses,available resources,tobacco control practices of others in the team,skills to help smokers quit smoking,the practice of educating smokers,experience of nursing the patients with smoking-related disease,attention level to tobacco control information;the behavior score of tobacco control showed a statistically significant difference(P <0.05)in the items of position,participation in training,sources of tobacco control knowledge,workload,work stress,support from colleagues,perception of tobacco control by nurses,available resources,tobacco control practices of others in the team,the skills of help smokers' in quitting smoking,the practice of educating smokers,and experience of nursing the patients with smoking-related disease,attention level to tobacco control information.3.The results of multi-factor analysis showed that education level and attention level to tobacco control information were the positive factors affecting the knowledge of tobacco control among clinical nurses,workload was the negative factor affecting the knowledge of tobacco control;perception of tobacco control by nurses,experience of nursing the patients with smoking-related disease and attention level to tobacco control information were the positive factors affecting the belief in tobacco control;participation in training,support from colleagues,tobacco control practices of others in the team,skills to help smokers quit smoking,attention level to tobacco control information were the positive factors affecting tobacco control behavior,workload was the negative factor affecting tobacco control behavior.Conclusion:1.The score of knowledge about tobacco control among clinical nurses in the tertiary hospitals of Qinhuangdao city is at a lower level,with a higher score for tobacco control attitude and a lower score for smoking control behavior.2.The main factors influencing the knowledge of tobacco control for clinical nurses are education level,workload,and the level of attention to the information of tobacco control;the main factors affecting the belief of tobacco control are perception of tobacco control by nurses,experience of nursing the patients with smoking-related disease,attention level to tobacco control information;The main factors affecting tobacco control behavior are participation in training,workload,support from colleagues,tobacco control practices of others in the team,skills to help smokers quit smoking,attention level to tobacco control information.
