Analysis Of Risk Factors For Delayed Gastric Emptying After Pancreatoduodenectomy

Objective: To explore the related factors of delayed gastric emptying(DGE)after pancreatoduodenectomy,study the methods of treating DGE and to avoid the possibility of DGE,so as to hospitalization stay and hospitalization expenses.Methods: 613 patients were collected in the study and were divided in to gastric group(50 cases)and non-gastric hernia group(563 cases).Based on the general condition of the patient(age,gender,presence or absence of underlying disease,jaundice level),surgical operation(operation time,amount of blood loss),postoperative conditions(albumin level,hemoglobin level,etcl.),the author explores DGE-related risk factors.RESULTS:(1)The patient whose age> 60 years,intraoperative blood loss> 500 ml,diabetes,operative time(29)5 hours,preoperative albumin level <30g/L,and postoperative complications were risk factors for DGE.(2)There were no statistically significant.difference between Gender,hypertension,intraoperative blood transfusion,preoperative PT,preoperative and postoperative ALB in both group.(3)The risk of GDE was significantly higher in patients who preoperative albumin level < 30g/L(odds ratio [OR],8.779;confidence interval [CI],1.167 to 66.032;P<0.05).The risk of DGEwas higher in patients for intraoperative blood loss of > 500ml(OR,2.446;CI,1.193 to 5.015,P<0.05).The risk of DGE were higher in patients who developed postoperative complications(OR,3.224;CI,1.748 to 5.944,P<0.001).Conclusions: This study shows that age,diabetes,preoperative albumin level,intraoperative blood loss,operation time and postoperative complications are risk factors for DGE.The age > 60,diabetes and operation time > 5 hours,are risk factors for DGE,but these aren't independent risk factors.The patient whose preoperative albumin level is less than 30 g/L,intraoperative blood loss more than 500 ml and developed postoperative complications were the independent risk factor for DGE.
