A Case Report Of Vaginal Chordoma And The Clinical Status Of Primary Vaginal Cancer

Chordoma is a rare,low-grade and locally invasive malignant tumor arising from embryonic remnant of notochord,which often occurs in axial skeleton,especially cranial,spine and sacral.The morbidity was reported to be 0.8/100000.Chordoma of vagina is extremely rare,which has never been reported up to now.In October 2016,a woman admitted to The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University with complaints of a vaginal mass and colporrhagia.The histopathological examination and immunohistochemical confirmed it to be vaginal chordoma.With 17 months follow-up,local recurrence and metastasis has not yet been observed.Vaginal cancer is infrequent in the female genital tract.squamous cell carcinoma is the main histology types,accounting for 85%-90% of primary vaginal malignant tumor..HPV infection is considered to be the main etiology.Patients suffer from primary vaginal cancer usually presented with colporrhagia and vaginal mass.The final diagnosis should depended on pathology.Radiotherapy,surgery and concurrent chemoradiotherapy are the main means of treatment.In recent years,interventional therapy and electrochemical therapy have gradually emerged,providing a new perspective for the treatment of vaginal cancer.The rest are extremely rare vaginal malignancies.Surgery is the main treatment for vaginal malignant melanoma.Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are often considered to be adjuvant therapy.With the development of biological targeted therapy,it has achieved good results in the treatment of vaginal malignant melanoma.Vaginal rhabdomyosarcoma is usually treated by chemotherapy and surgery.The main treatment for leiomyosarcoma of the vagina is surgery.The value of radiotherapy and chemotherapy for leiomyosarcoma of the vagina is still controversial.There are only a few case reports of vaginal malignancies in other histological types,and the clinical characteristics and treatment need more cases to support.In this case article,we discuss the clinical characteristics of vaginal chordoma combined with the clinical status of primary vaginal caner,to further explore the effective treatment about primary vaginal cancer.
