Objective:To observe the characteristics of hyponatremia and sodium fluctuation in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH).The initial aim is to reveal the relationship between hyponatremia and sodium fluctuation and the effect on neurologic outcome.Method:189 patients with aSAH between January 2017 and August2017 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were retrospectively reviewed.According to the fluctuation of blood sodium,it was classified as a maximum of <6mmol/L,6-12mmol/L,>12mmol/L group, and the prognosis of patients was evaluated by the modified Rankin Scale(mRS)?Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between blood sodium fluctuation and patient prognosis.Result There was no statistical correlation between hyponatremia and worse neurologic outcome(P>0.05),while more patients with the sodium fluctuation of 6-12mmol/L and >12mmol/L group had higher mRS and worse neurologic outcome than those of <6mmol/Lgroup(P<0.05).Conclusion:Instead of hyponatremia, the fluctuation of sodium has a statistical association with worse neurologic outcome among a SAH patients, which in conflict with the current concept and needs further clinical exploration.
