The Research On The Association Between Competence And Performance Of Dentist

Objects:The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of oral doctors' competence and job performance.To analyze the difference in the competence and performance of oral doctors with different demographic variables;To explore the relationship between the competence of oral doctors and the work performance.Methods:Through literature review,I selected the questionnaire on the competency of Chinese clinical doctors in China,which was developed by CMB of China medical university and education development center,and work performance questionnaire Research and development of Motowidlo et al.By stratified sampling method,Eight public dental medical institutions were randomly selected at a provincial level.A questionnaire was conducted with 630 oral doctors as subjects.Application of internal consistency test and principal component analysis test scale reliability and validity;Descriptive statistical analysis,single-factor variance analysis were used to analyze the status of oral doctors' competence and work performance.Pearson correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between job competence and job performance of oral doctors.Results:1.The results of the reliability and validity of the questionnaire show that oral doctors' competence questionnaire and performance questionnaire has good reliability and validity in this study.2.There are significant differences in the competence and performance of oral doctors in different demographic variables:There were significant differences in the competency of oral doctors with different degrees(p=0.035<0.05),show the law of "The higher the education,the higher the job competency score";There were significant differences in the competency of oral doctors in different titles(p=<0.001),basically,the higher the job title,the higher the competency score,However,the secondary professional dentists' job competency is lower than that of intermediate professional dentists.There is a significant difference in the competency of oral doctors in different specialties(p=0.006).There was a significant difference in the performance of oral doctors with different degrees(p=0.008),show the law of "The higher the education,the higher the job performance score";There are significant differences in the performance of oral doctors in different specialties(p=0.039).3.There is a significant correlation between the competency of oral doctors and 8 sub-dimensions and the work performance.4 post competency score(beta = 0.737,p < 0.001),information and management ability dimension scores(beta =-0.251,p = 0.002),education(beta = 0.105,p = 0.004),and medical knowledge and lifelong learning dimension scores(beta = 0.171,p = 0.012)have significant impacts on job performance,it show that performance score with post competency score higher and higher,as the medical knowledge and ability of lifelong learning dimension scores higher and higher,as the information and management ability dimension scores higher and higher.Conclusion:The overall level of oral surgeons post competency and job performance in this province is relatively good,There were significant differences in the competency of oral doctors with different degrees,job title and professional,significant differences in the performance of oral doctors with different degrees and professional.There is a significant correlation between the position competence of oral doctors and 8 sub-dimensions and work performance.The performance of oral doctors increases with the increase of competency,increases with the increase of the medical knowledge and ability of lifelong learning dimension,but decreases with the increase of the information and management ability dimension.
