Objective: To compare the curative effect of laparoscopic and traditional open surgery in the treatment of inguinal hernia in children.Method: Retrospective analysis underwent surgical treatment of inguinal hernia in children in the department of general surgery o-f the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, from august 2013 to february 2018,a total of 223 cases, including 96 cases of laparoscopic surgery(observation group),127 cases of open surgery(control group). There was no significant difference in the proportion of sex,age structure and the proportion of left and right hernia in the two groups. The incision length, intraoperative blood loss, operative time, postoperative exhaust time, hospitalization time, incidence of scrotal hematoma, postoperative recurrence rate, wound infection rate, wound bleeding rate, linear reaction rate, iatrogenic cryptorchidism rate of the two groups were compared, and that which group can find and treat the contralateral inguinal occult hernia and other aspects were compared, and that which group can find and treat the contralateral inguinal occult hernia.Result: Observation group: incision length(0.46±0.03)cm,intraoperative blood loss(1.55±0.71)ml,operative time(15.39±2.71)min,postoperative exhaust time(21.03±3.80)h,hospitalization time(2.20±0.45)d,incidence of scrotal hematoma(1.04%),postoperative recurrence rate(3.12%),wound infection r-ate(0.00%),wound bleeding rate(2.08%),linear reaction rate(1.04%),iatrogenic cryptorchidism rate(0.00%),and 5 cases of contralateral inguinal occult hernia were found.Control group: incision length(3.92±1.01)cm,intraoperative blood loss(4.84±0.89)ml,operative time(27.76±5.57)min,postoperative exhaust time(39.93±5.87)h,hospitalization time(3.42±1.08)d,incidence of scrotal hematoma(2.36%),postoperative recurrence rate(4.72%),wound infection rate(2.36%),wound bleeding rate(3.15%),linear reaction rate(3.15%),iatrogenic cryptorchidism rate(1.57%),and 0 cases of contralateral inguinal occult h-ernia were found. The length of inciseon, the amount of bleeding in the operation, the ti-me of operation, the time of postoperative exhaust and the time of hospitalization in the two groups were obvious(P<0.05);.There was no significant difference in scrotal hematoma rate, postoperative recurrence rate, wound infection rate, wound bleeding rate, linear reaction rate, iatrogenic cryptorchidism rate between the two groups(P>0.05);and laparoscopic surgery can find the contralateral inguinal occult hernia and treat it.Conclusion: The laparoscopic treatment of inguinal hernia in children is better than open surgery,in the f-ollowing respects, for example, the operation is faster, the trauma in the operation area is smaller, the postoperative recovery is faster, the incidence of related complications was low,the hospitalizetion time is shorter, the scar is smaller. This kind of surgery has cosmetic effects.Occult inguinal hernia in the opposite side and other intraabdominal diseases can b-e found, and it can be treated with same method at the same time, when using laparoscopic surgery. It can avoid reoperation.Laparoscopic treatment should be actively promoted a-nd applied in clinical treatment.
