Objectives:We measured plasm advanced oxidation protein products(AOPPs)and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)levels in artery during the anesthesia in patients received lobectomy.The effect of edaravone(a kind of free-radical scavenger)on AOPPs and MMP-9 was also evaluated.The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical basis for seeking new lung protection measures for patients requiring single lung ventilation.Method:30 patients(16 males and 14 females)aged 40-60 received lobectomy were included.The ASA classification of these patients were ?-?,the BMIs were ranged from 18?24kg/m2.All these patients have no acute respiratory infection and immune system disease,and were divided into three groups:normal saline control(A),15mg edaravone group(B)and 30mg edaravone group(C).0.3mg/kg and 0.6mg/kg edaravone(dilution to 30ml)was intravenous intravenous pumped to B and C before anesthesia,respectively.7.5ml artery blood was collected before medication(To),immediately after anesthesia endotracheal intubation(Ti),1 hour after single lung ventilation(T2),1 hour after double lung ventilation(T3).1.5ml plasm was obtained from 7.5ml blood after centrifuge.The concentrations of AOPPs and MMP-9 were measured by ELISA.Result:(1)There was no statistically significant difference between the three groups(2)When compared with To,AOPPs in group A and C were decreased in T1,T2 and T3(P<0.05).When compared with group A.AOPPs in group C were decreased in T1,T2 and T3(P<0.05).(3)When compared with T0,MMP-9 in group A decreased in T3(P<0.05).When compared with group A.MMP-9 in group B were decreased in Ti and T2(P<0.05).MMP-9 in group C were decreased in Ti,T2 and T3(P<0.05).When compared with group B,MMP-9 in group C were decreased in Ti,T2 and T3(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Edaravone could decrease plasm AOPPs and MMP-9 levels during single lung ventilation.(2)Edaravone attenuates the lung injury and have a dose dependent manner.
