The Retrospective Study Of The Clinical Outcomes And Related Factors Of Distal Radial Fractures Treated By Volar Locking Compression Plate

Objectives:To analyze retrospectively the radiographic and functional outcomes of distal radial fractures treated by Volar locking compression plate.Identify the influencing factors of clinical prognosis and the correlation between the radiographic and functional scoring systems.Methods:146 cases of distal radial fractures treated by Volar locking compression plate,hospitalized during the period 2014-01 to 2016-12,were retrospectively studied.We analyzed the preoperative X-ray and CT examination and typed the fracture according to the AO classification system.Measuring the palmar tilt,inclination,and the height of postoperative X-ray were performed.It was also recorded whether the postoperative articular was flat,whether the fracture fragments were rotated,and whether the distal radioulnar joint showed dislocation or subluxation.We scored the radiographic results according to the Batra imaging system.All the patients were followed up by evaluated functionally according to the Lidstrom scoring systems.146 patients were grouped according to age,AO type,concomitant injuries,operative duration,complication and proceed statistical analysis,followed by evaluating the relationship between clinic prognosis and various factors.Results:All 146 patients achieved boned healing.According to Batra imaging scoring system,132 of them achieved good results.The relationship among age,AO type,concomitant injuries,operative duration,complication and the results of Batra imaging scoring system were determined by using chi-square test,and no significant difference was seen between the groups.There is no significant difference in multi-factor regression analysis.According to Lidstrom scoring system,134 of the 146 patients achieved good results.The relationship among age,AO type,concomitant injuries,operative duration,complication and the results of Lidstrom scoring system were determined by chi-square test.Significant difference between the groups of age,AO type,and complication was identified.There was a positive correlation between the Batra imaging scoring and the Lidstrom scoring system.Conclusions:Distal radial fractures can obtain good curative effect by Volar locking compression plate.Age,AO type and complication are related to the function of wrist.There are positive relationships between the Batra imaging scoring system and the Lidstrom scoring system.
