Objective:To explore whether mobile health care based on smartphones is equally applicable to elderly patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM),to conduct "M-health" services for elderly patients with diabetes, analyze their blood glucose control levels, assess the risk of hypoglycemia and Patient compliance, etc. Methods:One hundred patients with type 2 diabetes with HbA1 c ranging from 7% to 10%were randomly divided into the experimental group(50 patients)and the control group(50 patients).M-health management was explained to the subjects before the trial(U-diabetes.com Diabetes Telemedicine Platform and Diabetes Mobile Health Wechat Public Platform independently developed by the First Hospital of Jilin University),taking into account the level of mastery of new things among elderly patients.Limited, and on-site instruction was repeated during the study.Patients require 2 to 3 days a week,at least two times a day to measure blood glucose, and manually upload blood glucose data.In the WeChat public platform, subjects were able to see changes in their blood glucose levels, blood pressure levels, and body weight.Medical staff logged in the system every 2 weeks and based on the data uploaded by the subjects, sent medical group recommendations through the system, and passed The system automatically reminds the patient to monitor and upload blood glucose twice a week and conduct regular telephone consultations once a month. The control group was given only 1 time/month telephone consultation to maintain the traditional outpatient consultation mode. All elderly patients who participated in the trial received regular physical examination and blood biochemistry at the time of enrollment and on the 3rd and 6th months after the trial.Testing, and follow-up and outpatient treatment in the same medical group. Results:From the third month of study,HbA1 c in the experimental group improved significantly compared with baseline(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the 2 h postprandial blood glucose level in the experimental group decreased significantly(P=0.04).(2)At 6 months, the experimental group HbA1 c progressively decreased, significantly lower than the control group(P <0.05),and the degree of decline than the baseline value was significantly higher than the control group(P = 0.045).Compared with the control group, the 2h postprandial blood glucose of the experimental group was significantly improved(P<0.01),and there was a statistically significant difference(P=0.049)compared with the 2h postprandial blood glucose 2months before the experimental group. The anxiety scores in both the experimental group and the control group improved, and the comparison group significantly improved between the two groups(P=0.04).Depression scores improved in both the experimental group and the control group, and the decrease was greater in the experimental group than in the control group(P=0.03).(3)At the end of the trial, more than 80% of patients in the test group adhered to blood glucose monitoring for 2to 3 days/week.Conclusions:1.Diabetes mellitus can also effectively control blood glucose and reduce the level of glycated hemoglobin in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.2.Diabetes mHealth can significantly improve geriatric patient compliance.3.The consultation and education conducted under the diabetes mobile health model can effectively improve the mental and emotional status of elderly diabetic patients.
