The Correlations Among Health Literacy And Social Support,Quality Of Life In Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients

Objective:(1)To explore the current situation of health literacy,social support and quality of life in maintenance hemodialysis patients;(2)To analyze the influencing factors of health literacy in maintenance hemodialysis patients;(3)To explore the correlations among health literacy,social support and quality of life in maintenance hemodialysis patients.Methods:By using random sampling method:firstly,4 districts were randomly selected from Changsha city(Furong district,Tianxin district,Yuelu district,Kaifu district,Yuhua district,Wangcheng district)in Hunan province;then,in the 4 districts where have comprehensive hospital with blood purification center,1 hospital was randomly selected from each district;finally,maintenance hemodialysis patients were selected from the 4 hospitals,according to the date,that is we randomly selected the odd dialysis serial number of maintenance hemodialysis patients on the odd day and randomly selected the even dialysis serial number of maintenance hemodialysis patients on the even day,180 maintenance hemodialysis patients met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in all.The general data questionnaire,the health literacy management scale(HeLMS),the social support revalued scale(SSRS)and the medical outcome study 36-item short form health survey(SF-36)were used to investigate the data.SPSS23.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data.Statistical methods include statistical description,two sample t-test,analysis of variance,chi-square test,multiple linear regression analysis,Spearman correlation analysis.Results:(1)The total scores of health literacy in maintenance hemodialysis patients was(93.64±15.42)points,health literacy have proportion was 50.0%.In the four dimensions,the information acquisition ability was(33.81± 10.09)points,communicative interaction ability was(35.34±5.40)points,the heath improvement willingness was(4.54±0.57)points and economic support willingness was(6.34±2.98)points.(2)The total scores of social support in maintenance hemodialysis patients was(43.29±6.52)points which is in the middle to upper level.There were 2 patients(1.1%)with low social support level,87 patients(48.3%)with moderate social support level and 91 patients with high social support level(50.6%).(3)The total scores of quality of life in maintenance hemodialysis patients was(101.63±16.46)points.Among the eight dimensions,the body pain was the highest(86.65±19.44)points,followed by mental health(78.73± 14.49)points,and the lowest was vitality(36.31±21.24)points.The score of physical functioning dimension,role-physical dimension,general health dimension,vitality dimension,social functioning dimension and role emotional dimension were lower than the norm,the score of bodily pain dimension higher than the norm,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);mental health dimension lower than the norm,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).(4)Single factor analysis showed that there were significant differences in health literacy among patients with different age,level of education,occupation and hemodialysis frequency(P<0.05);Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the age,level of education,hemodialysis frequency and total scores of social support into the regression model.(5)Spearman correlation analysis showed that the total scores of health literacy and the total scores of social support,the total scores of quality of life and the total scores of health literacy were positively correlated,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)The health literacy of maintenance hemodialysis patients at low level.Age,level of education,hemodialysis frequency and social support were the influencing factors of health literacy of maintenance hemodialysis patients.(2)The overall level of maintenance hemodialysis patients' social support is the middle to upper.(3)The total scores of health literacy and the total scores of social support,the total scores of quality of life and the total scores of health literacy were positively correlated among maintenance hemodialysis patients.
