Objective:To evaluate the health literacy of caregivers with dementia patients, and to explore the status and influencing factors of the health literacy2.To explore the relationship between caregivers' health literacy, social support, care ability and health outcomes.3.The structural equation model was used to establish a model of the interaction between caregivers' health literacy, social support care ability and health outcomesMethods:1.From August 2018 to June 2019,253 dementia patients and caregivers in the department of geriatrics and department of neurology of three hospitals in Yangzhou were selected according to the inclusion criteria2.The general condition of caregivers and patients, health literacy, social support, care ability and health outcomes of caregivers were assessed by self-designed general situation questionnaire, health literacy questionnaire of caregivers, social support rate scale(SSRS),care ability questionnaire and health outcomes3.SPSS 19.0 and AMOS23.0 were used for data statistical and analysis and statistical methods included descriptive analysis,t test, analysis of variance, multiple linear regression, pearson correlation analysis, spearman level correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysisResults:1.Current status and influencing factors of health literacy of caregivers with dementia patients. The results showed that the total score of health literacy for caregivers with dementia patients was(14.01±4.13),health knowledge dimension was(3.60±1.62),healthy lifestyle and behavior dimension was(3.80±1.14),healthy skills dimension was(4.00±1.17),and health information acquisition dimension was(2.60±1.17).According to the scoring criteria of the scale,164(64.82%)caregivers' health literacy scored?15 points,47(18.58%)caregivers' scored between 16 and 18 points, and 42(16.60%)caregivers' scored?19 points. In this study, health literacy of caregivers were at a low level. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the age.education level, occupation, family monthly income-and helper were the relevant factors that affect the caregivers' health literacy2.Relationship between caregivers' health literacy, social support, care ability and healthy outcomes.A total of 253 caregivers were included in this study, caregivers with moderate level of social support, low levels of care ability and worse health outcomes. There were no statistical significance between healthy lifestyle and behavior and illness of caregivers, health skills and availability of support, availability of health information and the availability of support. The other dimensions of the scale were correlated in pairs and had statistical significance(P<0.05)3.Construction of structural equation model. The final model fitting indexes of the structural equation model were:RMSEA=0.022,GFI=0.972.AGFI=0.948.IFI=0.994,CFI=0.994.TLI=0.991.The overall fitting degree of the model was good.Health literacy directly affects social support, with a path coefficient was 0.493;The effects of health literacy on health outcomes include direct effects and indirect effects, and the path coefficients were-0.382 and-0.123,respectively.The effects of health literacy on the care ability included direct effects and indirect effects, with path coefficients were 0.530 and 0.253,respectively.Conclusion:1.There was a high incidence of low health literacy among caregivers of dementia patients, and the age, educational, occupation, family monthly income and helpers were the relevant factors that affect caregivers' health literacy.Medical workers can conduct targeted health education to improve their health literacy level.2.There were relationship between health literacy, social support, care ability and healthy outcomes. The higher scores of health literacy, the higher scores of social support and care ability, and the better health outcomes of caregivers3.The structural equation model of health literacy and social support, care ability, health outcome fits well, which conforms to the theoretical hypothesis. It is hoped that can provide some guidance for the intervention work related to health literacy of caregivers with dementia patients in the future.
